My group of friends has/had a time-honored tradition of "claiming" characters to "be" in movies. These claims were taken very seriously with the subject of Star Wars. Usually the claim was a character the subject found to be either and/or a) interesting/cool/awesome and b)somewhat of a reflection of the subject's personality (or what they wished it was...)

Did anyone else ever claim a character? Do you still proudly claim that character to this day? Any fights over which character was yours?

Good times. I can remember the days of claiming characters....so long ago....like....last week.

Oh yes...still Luke to this day. There was a time in my own life when I was so torn...unsure of which fork in the road to take, but with time one gets more experienced and wise.

I now watch my grown children and play the "Jedi Master" role in their lives. I was ROTJ Luke at Celebration Anaheim...ahhh, so much fun.

Obi Wan Kenobi - I just cannot escape staying loyal even when I can clearly see it that it's the bad idea. This is why I always cheered for Obi Wan to go rogue and I will defend his 'certain point of view' till death. Plus, sarcasm is my thing. :D

    Though, there is Luke too...

Luke Skywalker all way when I was a kid and maybe Ahsoka.

A real inclination for good but sometimes impatient and injustice can makes me mad.

I was very possessive of my claim to be Yoda in my middle school years. (I was kind of a tomboy and did not want to admit I secretly wanted to be Leia as well.) Luckily, most of my friends had diverse favorites so we didn't have too much fighting over characters to be. My female cousin claimed Chewbacca, my future husband was Han, his best friend was Luke, my future roommate was R2, and one of my male friends claimed Leia...who was pretty much the only girl in Star Wars (besides side characters like Mon Mothra and Kabe) at the time. No one wanted to be C3P0 haha.

I always thought it was cool how he was a loyal friend. He was full of worry and concern when the search for Luke and Han had to be postponed due to the drop in temp. He also went looking for and put up a fight to gather all of 3PO in TESB.
And how his trust had to be earned by Luke in ANH.
I've even had people tell me I look like a Wookiee LOL \m/ \m/

Ummm, I have to see the movie first.

However, from the Saga so far, I am most likely to be like Obi-Wan. Jedi in the Light - no matter what. Although I understand Anakin's sufferings I would never be able to go to the Dark Side in reality, just like Luke, I would rather give up than to join the wicked.

Maybe this will sound kind of silly and dorky but my claim was Salacious Crumb. I loved him from the first moment I saw him in the ROTJ movie trailer on TV and I even pretended to be him when me and my friends played at being SW characters when we were little kids and this was even before seeing the movie. The very reason I got the Jabba the Hutt playset was to get Crumb and I can say I loved him more than I loved the Jabba figure and even as an adult I still love him so much that I bought his Black Series figure on Ebay even before I had ever gotten the Jabba figure. To this day my thoughts on him haven't changed at all as I still love his Black Series figure even more than I love the Jabba figure!

When I was a kid: Luke. He had the green lightsaber and did the coolest stuff in RotJ.

When I was a teen: The PT came out and I was all over being Anakin. I knew what would happen to him but I didn't care; Anakin's awesome.

TCW: Ahsoka. She's a lot like me though she grew patience over the years, I didn't.

Rebels: No one, though Ahsoka's back so that's good. I never really connected to anyone on the cast yet.

TFA: Rey. If she turns out like I hope (a force user, particularly a Skywalker of some sort) she will probably be "mine" for a long, long time. As a woman I really wanted a female lead and if it turns out right then I'll follow her.

I was always Tenel Ka; my sister was always Cindel Towani (she favored her a lot - blue eyes, mess of blond curls - and we knew who Cindel was before we ever learned about Star Wars, having seen the Ewok movies as tots). Oh, and our big dog Sequoia was Chewbacca.

Obi-Wan. I'm too sarcastic to be anyone else, and I'm not as uptight as C-3PO.
