In a recent interview with The Face, young actress Dafne Keen hinted that she has a significant role in the upcoming live-action series The Acolyte, when she confirmed that she will be filming for the series until next April. Cameras started rolling in early November in the U.K. and will be doing so through next May.

The Acolyte will be the first time the pre-Phantom Menace timeline is explored in live-action. While not a lot of details are known at this point, we know we should expect a mystery thriller set in the final days of the High Republic, when the Jedi began to realize there were some dark powers emerging they couldn't fully comprehend. It is led by Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies), who supposedly plays a young Padawan reuniting with her former Master (who we assume will be played by Squid Game's Lee Jung-jae) to investigate a series of crimes.

How Dafne Keen's character will factor into the plot, we don't know yet for sure. The actress hinted in a recent interview that it will be a Sith-led story which will provide some details about how they infiltrated the Jedi Order. Set photos leaked earlier this month showing us our first look at Lee Jung-jae, Dean Charles Chapman, and someone who The Daily Mail identified as Dafne Keen too.

The series is rumored (via Bespin Bulletin) to be currently shooting in multiple places across the U.K. at the same time, taking a cue from what Andor did in 2021 when they filmed season 1, which they are also doing on season 2. Leslye Headland is credited as creator, showrunner, executive producer, and director of the pilot. Given the show's sizable production schedule, we should expect it to hit Disney Plus in the first half of 2024.

I'm really curious what this is about and the fact it's in a new era with new characters.
