DAISY RIDLEY'S INTERESTED IN INTIMACY, BUT NOT ROMANCE IN STAR WARS: EPISODE IX

There's already a sexual tension or subtext between Kylo and Rey, as the story group admitted today, so I agree completely with Daisy, there is no need for a 'romantic' relationship between Rey and character [..]. Intimacy is so much more important because the sexual element is taken out of the equation. It would also seriously detract from the movies' theme of belonging and friendship if 'romance' would into play in any relationship with her new friends. Being implicit about such things is perhaps more important and forceful.

Though, if they do go for a romantic relationship, I'm open for innovative ways of writing it.

 

I think this premise of intimacy versus romance makes a lot of sense for Rey as a character. Her struggles have been with abandonment, she has always been lonely. She craves a family, not a husband. It is why she clings so quickly to anyone who attempts to connect to her.

I don't take it to mean she would not be open to romance, but as a character defining motive it holds little weight.

 

She was talking in reference to Poe. TLJ clearly established a romantic link between Rey and Kylo, which was disgusting and degrading; it made me dislike Rey.

TLJ also gave the smallest hint that Rey might be jealous of Finn's interest in Rose. Their hug was also very emotionally packed. I'd be very happy to see some romance between Rey and Finn.

Which leads me to the following observation: the ST seems to be a bit frigid in terms of romance. SW is the kind of genre where romance should be a key ingredient. To cut that out makes it feel like something's missing. But then again they're cutting everything out that made SW human, like family connections (no children for Luke! No good kids for Han and Leia!).

The fact that there is a sexual tension does not mean there is sexual attraction..............tssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

 

Only way for Kylo to chose Rey over ambition will be if he will suck in his role of new Supreme Leader,or been defeated by Rey,in both cases pathetic.

I am afraid Rey would be forced to end his life,now after EP VIII.,except,if he is the one who once saved Rey as a child from slaughter in Lukes acadamy,actually.

 

As Supreme Leader Snoke said: "We shall see."

 

k, now I expect a hardcore sex scene on the finalizer in IX.

Im not that fussed who ends up with who(if any one), I just want some more scenes between Rey and Finn! Whether thats in a romantic way or in a platonic way. I loved their chemistry in the Force Awakens and missed them having screen time together in the Last Jedi. So i hope we get some more of these characters together on an adventure in Episode 9
