    I recently listened to the Weekly Planet Podcast and they had a VERSES episode where they pitted famous literary or cinematic characters against each other in a duel to the death format. For one of their Star Wars matchups suggested by a listener, they put Darth Vader against his grandson Kylo Ren.

    CONDITIONS!

    Both characters are in their prime. Vader is ANH era where he is just kicking butt and taking names as seen in the comics. Kylo probably around the same time of TFA where he can take a blaster to the chest and keep on going.

    Kylo thinks Vader is a fake so he's ready to kill the blasphemous person who is dishonoring his grandfather while Vader just thinks Kylo is some idiot Jedi who escaped Order 66.

    Fight takes place on a standard American football field which is floating in space with a force field keeping them in, so just a giant grassy rectangle which 2 regular goalposts. No stands or anything like that.

    They only have their usual weapons with them which is obviously just their lightsabers.

    Who wins? You decide!

    Maybe we should wait until Kylo Ren is in his prime and has finished his training. Then we can wonder about "who would win in a fight?". But for now, it's completely nonsense. A finished and established villain against a villain who has just started his journey to power.
    But if you want an answer for "Vader (ANH) vs Kylo Ren (TFA)" => Vader would win. But that could change in the future, Kylo Ren has high chances to be the most powerful dark side user.

    given the silly conditions, Vader would win based on height, reach, and emotional stability.
    though really all Kylo Ren has to do to incapacitate Vader is use the Force to destroy his breathing apparatus.

    but if all things were equal, i'd prefer to see them work it out in a more civilized manner ~ hahaha
