Do you think Luke will still have his old X-Wing?

I also think it will be a variation of the x-wing. I think Kylo Ren's new ship in TLJ is reminiscent of Vader's tie fighter. I really hope Luke has something totally different. More befitting a Jedi archeologist. Storing all those old Jedi artifacts from all the Jedi Temples he's excavated and scavenged.

I'd be cool if he found one of these in all his searching for Jedi lore.

What if he found that exact same one in a junkyard somewhere on Coruscant

And get Han to make some special modifications on it.... Yeah, totally. If he's gonna fly something, this or an X-Wing variation would be cool.

I kinda feel like he is more like Yoda on Dagobah or Obi-Wan on Tatooine at this point though. Living very simply with minimal possessions, no vehicle. I mean I know he had to get there somehow, so he should have a ship, right? But for purposes of drawing parallels to those characters in the Original Trilogy, I'd be surprised if he has one.

Well Obi-Wan had a ship or at least sold it eventually...who would Luke have sold his ship to...a bird? :p Yoda, on the other hand, was truly stranded because he arrived on Dagobah in an escape pod thing

Maybe Luke took an escape pod too. Or maybe he purposely sank his sink to the bottom of the ocean using the Force because he never wanted to leave. Or maybe he ripped apart his ship to use the parts for survival. There is no limit to what writers could come up with to explain why he has no vehicle. Or maybe they just don't even touch on it at all. There was no explanation for how Yoda arrived on Dagobah in the OT, we only saw him arrive in the escape pod thing in a deleted scene from ROTS.

That argument doesn't hold water if you compare it to other Star Wars media. Prime example is KOTOR series. Your telling me that the technology and ships that happen Thousands of years ago is the same technology that shows up during Original Trilogy with no improvements? Lightsabers didn't change, no progression on wepons, not a single improvement of traveling or any signs of new technology that was only specific to the OT. That are tons of other examples and TFA is treated no different.

And how about if I don't? How about I just use the other films as comparison, which I did in my original comment?

Why was Luke authorized to keep a military ship for his own purpose ?

Speaking of lightsabers, briefly, they have changed, but not so much since Kylo's saber is supposed to be an "ancient" design.

Hmm..I never thought bout it like that but it could have been that he was given authorized use of it whenever he wants because of what he did for the rebels.

True but Luke felt like pretty much the catalyst for it to all work

If that jedi island on Ach-to had one single landing pad, his X wing clearly was not there.

    Maybe Ben left him there.
He turned to the dark side, stole their ship, and left Luke behind without a chance to get away.
He went to kill all younglings of the new academy. Afterwards flying with a different ship, leaving R2 behind.
Snoke would have been pissed because he didn't kill Luke, so he returned to the academy to get the map out of the ship, but unfortunatly the map was deleted from the ships computer (Lor San Tekka arrived shortly before him and took it) and R2 is not functional anymore (but did earlier remove an essential part of the map)...

Luke has been traveling looking for Jedi lore but he has not always been alone. We know from the TFA Visual Dictionary that Lor San Tekka traveled with him. In Bloodline we know Ben/Kylo travelled with him. There is a chance the theee of them traveled together. Unless they all flew separate ships, Luke likely was not flying his x wing across the galaxy. I lean on the side of him not having the x wing. However, there tended to be a lot of fan service in these films do I wouldn't rule out him still having it.
