Obi-Wan Kenobi was no boy scout. He had a sense of humor, and a temper, not to mention dashing good looks. He had 'game' from day one. In other words, he was the galaxy's most charming jedi. Intergalactic tail was likely thrown his way at even the most backwater planets. Hell, even Anakin, his BFF, didn't trust Padme to be alone with Obi-Wan. (Spare me the 'Anakin' was a paranoid nutjob by that point as I doubt he would have been troubled had Obi-Wan looked and acted like Woody Allen.)

So it is well within the realm of possibility that he did in fact take a wife or at least have an affair with a lucky lady or three. Remember Ben had Qui-Gon as a master, hardly a by-the-books jedi.

Perhaps Obi-Wan took a mistress/wife on Tatooine. Watching over Luke in the middle of nowhere would have gotten old real fast. He'd have needed something, or someone, to spend time with, or risk going crazy.

Say it was a beautiful, independent woman. Someone who would know him only as Ben. A woman who would give birth to his kid(s).

Ben would exist only in her memories as he vanished quickly after their affair, living the rest of his life in solitude. (For reasons that would make a great spin-off, yes? Maybe he felt guilty over the whole thing. Jedi angst, etc.)

Lo and behold 45 years later, Obi-Wan's granddaughter gets mixed up with an all-new plot, where her secret legacy will be revealed.

Luke training Obi-Wan's granddaughter would be a wonderful ode to the OT and the character of Obi-Wan.

Look at it this way, after the Solo/Skywalker names, Kenobi is the next most marketable and most influential to both the OT and the PT. It would be a missed opportunity to not create more characters named Kenobi.

A descendant of Kenobi's would help setup/drive more interest in his solo film. Because if Obi-Wan was able to keep this secret, there's no telling what else he was up to.

This entire line of thinking makes more sense when you consider Obi-Wan's 'from a certain POV' advice to Luke.

Agree? Disagree? Is it Ridley or Richardson-Sellers? Speak your piece buds!

Like the idea. And it would be fantastic for the first spin off to see Obi wan getting realy romantic showing girls his Lightsaber collection ;)
    And I don`t think it`s Ridley...perhaps It`s Oscar Isaac or Gleeson.

I'd prefer - if any existing characters were to have offspring in the sequel trilogy - that it not be Luke, but Obi-Wan. It's a nice, out of left-field twist, unexpected because the classical Jedi were devoutly celibate, and it ties Episodes I-IV with VII in a linear but indirect fashion. Be a nice way to get hologram messages left by Obi-Wan, kept by his child, into the narrative without feeling shoehorned or obliged to have his Force-ghost pop his head around the corner of a tree to please old-time fans.

i kinda doubt Obi-Wan had any children, or that if he did, that they survived until ANH. why would Obi-Wan say, "that boy is our last hope," if he had a kid knocking around? unless he was lying to himself, from a certain point of view? lol i think they could get away with him having a love interest, but any child would have had to be completely unknown to him and Yoda, unless the "other" Yoda mentioned was actually Obi-Wan's child and not Leia, in which case, how the hell did Yoda know and not Obi-Wan?

but with all that being said, i kinda doubt Obi-Wan had any children...

An Obi-wan child would be absolutely awful NOT to mention destroy the OT. Luke isn't the New Hope -- its Obi-wan's kid. LOL

I'm sure there was a story where Obi-Wan did have a wife or girlfriend... one of the Dark Horse comics set during or around ROTS...?
Can't seem to find any reference to it, I'm sure I've seen it though.

Obi-Wan had romantic feelings for Satine, Dutchess of Mandalore while he was an apprentice to Qui-Gon.

Nah - it wasn't that I was thinking of. It was definitely him meeting up with some secret, normal humanoid, wife/girlfriend somewhere in his starfighter, in a comic. I may have dreamt the whole thing, but I was sure I'd seen it...

I'm glad you took the time to add a LOL to your response. Thanks! You've added a great deal to the discussion and helped create an environment that's conducive to thoughtful conversation. Keep up the great work!

Maybe next time just give me a Dumb badge, yeah? Save us both some time.

P.S. A closed mind is the most dangerous thing in the world. It's why only the Sith deal in absolutes. You'd do well to keep an open mind.

Hah - sorry - what I meant by that was she didn't look like a stylised humanoid out of the Clone Wars cartoons, and she wasn't really in the story doing anything else much, other than being Kenobi's secret love interest. Just a normal humanoid getting on with her normal humanoid stuff.
Like I said, I'm beginning to think I've just dreamt this comic even existed... (epic fail)

Saying had a nephew who...who was an early-mid-teen.

Hmm....secret identities are popular in Star Wars....SOOO, with that in mind.,,,

We could totally have a Kenobi descendant who is part Kenobi and part Mandalorian.

Yes my friends, the new Mandalore is a highly force sensitive Kenobi heir...Boba Fett with a light saber.

The toys would fly off the shelves.
