They say Morgan is dead, but she's coming back to life. There is no way they give her a cool ass weapon to just kill her off. Especially setting up that those Stormtroopers where basically zombies.

I was talking about the magic cgi but as for Morgan, I'm completely expecting her to return in the form of the other or some kind of zombie and the actress returning to voice

He disguised himself as a Death Trooper so that the ride back to GFFA would be funnier.

The question was more about how he stayed hidden for the journey home and then got away from the Chimera in that stolen shuttle. There's a Rebels episode worth of shenanigans there, somewhere :D

He's just one guy. Pretty easy to act normal. Though, I would've liked a scene of him stealing a ship. That's a bit more difficult. That said, it was important for Ezra and Hera/Chopper to reunite vs him stealing a ship.

Ok, so after processing this for about a day, my thoughts on the finale.
    • The fight choreography is very much the biggest standout this episode, the fight between Ahsoka & Morgan is not only the best of the season but easily a contender for the best fight in the Disney-era. Whoever worked on that needs a pay raise, ASAP.
    • The Night Troopers actually turned out to be something really neat. Despite being resurrected by the Great Mothers and doing the standard zombie moaning and groaning, throughout most of the episode they largely continued to behave and react like Stormtroopers rather than just lumbering undead. Though my favorite detail are the "Death Troopers" which became an amalgam of both their canon and legends iterations.
    • The season sets up a lot of things but never really seemed to develop some of them very much. Baylan's arc in particular never really seemed to move much or develop in any way that makes me say that I know much more now than when the show first started. Yes, I understand the intent is that the story gets spread out across multiple seasons and that Baylan's arc was never going to be resolved in the first season, but I do feel like his arc spent most of its time spinning its tires in the mud providing little in the way of any meaningful development. Thus Ray Stevenson's last on-screen performance as the character feels really bittersweet, as it is a brief tease of more story to come with no dialogue.
    • The Ahsoka/Sabine dynamic saw some satisfying development and did finally get some much needed clarification (albeit rather late in the game), and honestly I was happy with where their characters ended up by the end of the season.
    • Dave Filoni is shameless in showing off some very Middle-Earth inspired visuals in this show and I adore him for it.

Great Mothers, with the power of metaphysics.
3 giant statues of the known Mortis gods, carved from the peaks of mountain range. Will Ahsoka replace the daughter?
The ghost of father Skywalker, the heir to throne of Mortis. Is Peridia the prison planet of the Mother?
Is the Mother, Abeloth? Does she seek a new lover? We all know Baylan would.
    shiny shin.jpg
Or does she seek a new host? Someone hungry for power and prestige?

Hands down, best shot of the series. Greatest sequence also.... every Rebels fan, peed a little.

So we get this bad a** new Nightsister in Morgan Elsbeth, complete with a dope new green flaming sword, just to be alive for like 2.3 minutes? No way she's dead.

How about these guys. Night Pilots lol?
Pretty darn cool with the old battered look/ kintsugi cracks/red Nightsister stripe.

No shame in that homeboy. This is what we want from star wars. Piss and glee.

Yep great shot. There are so many great shots in this series it ain't even funny. Let's take you and @Madmartigan and go down the list.

I also found this final episode to be something of a disappointment. And, as others have said on here, I think that's in chief namely due to the lack of progression with Baylan Skoll's story.

I understand that Ray Stevenson died after the Season wrapped, so it may be that (and surely was?) the case that they'd filmed more but cut back on it, since they were unsure what to do going forward. But nonetheless, it was a bit jarring as the time left on the episode began to run out and I'm thinking "Hang on! We still haven't seen Baylan / Shin yet...".

Overall though, I thought this series was pretty good. It probably peaked around Episodes 4-6, where I found it to be up with some of the Mandalorian, as the best post Disney purchase Star Wars.

Do you remember in some interview, how there is a reason for Baylan and Shin having more orange than red lightsabers and we will find out why that is? We know nothing at all still! :D :D

I had to take a day for my impressions to settle and the gist of it is - some genuinely fantastic moments, but overall it always came one step short of, well, everything, and that applies to both the last episode and the whole season.

For the episode, the good stuff: the fight between Ahsoka and Morgan was the best of the show, could have watched more of it, the action in general was great, Ezra and Huyang remained the best, Sabine returning for Ahsoka meaningfully completed their story for the season, the zombies made me laugh.

The undercooked, not so good stuff for both the last episode and the season: Baylan and Shin's stories went nowhere - she became pointless by the end, even as a parallel to Sabine, and his story became inside baseball for ultra fans who got a glimpse of Mortis Gods statues - you can bet that general audience didn't get it and thought that his story simply ended with him watching the view. Baylan's story had one substantial fact - survivor of Order 66 - the rest is just conjecture. Also, while Lars was great as Thrawn, Filoni has no idea how to write him. His Thrawn is only posturing. The season was riddled with telling, not showing - just in the last episode we were told Sabine's family was killed - it could have been shown during her 'brooding' episodes, we were told about Ahsoka fearing that Sabine trained for the wrong reasons, why by Huyang and not by Ahsoka? We were told Thrawn woke the mothers up and repaired the ship - how? How did he know to wake them up? Show us! We have been told throughout the season how dangerous he is. What we saw on the screen was meticulous manager, not genius strategist. Even his uniform, worn out and patched up told better story of the past 10 years than the story itself. They should have asked for Zahn's help, but then they would have to care about more complex, more nuanced villain than this "For the Empire" crap. The entire season felt like a set up for Season 2, instead of telling a complete story on its own.

In the end, I am disappointed not because the season was bad, but because it had so many good things in it that just needed a little bit of effort to be great. I hope that the second season isn't just a set up for a movie.

By the Force, I hate been negative, but I feel so let down.

Spot on how I feel with what I already wrote. Thrawn is still completely different in books than what we saw on screen so far. He is even relatable and symphatetic in the way he is written at times and more of a grey area character and ultimate pragmatist, that sided with the Empire to reach his goals.
Even with announcing that Zahn participated on the show, I don't see it. Besides Lars Mikkelsen being awesome, the writing is, I don't know, basic?

Also, his scrape of the barrel leftover army that he left Peridea with, doesn't feel as much of a threat. However, uniting all the Imperial remnant? Scene with a call to the Shadow council again, would help. It really doesn't need to be as much or epic, like Thrawn right away beating up some New Republic fleet or squadron after his arrival before the credits of season 1 roll.
The mention of Mandalore on the other hand, that happened in Season 3 of Mando, yes, that was great for establishing the timeline and make the universe more connected.

As you pointed out even when telling and not showing, it wasn't much. He is basically an evil and super dangerous empire officer, and that's it.
Even a sneak peak or foreshadowing of what he has in mind next after his arrival, would help.
Same with Shin and Baylan. We have no idea why they have such sabers, who is Shin and how she got together with Baylan and what are their motivations besides Baylan having a dream and Shin being his lapdog apprentice, until he sets her free.
I kinda hoped for her to take side with Thrawn, as Baylan encouraged her... so will she lead an Empire comprised of bunch of smoking huts and raiders inspired by the Oni samurai troops?

I have a feeling that Disney takes all of us watching their shows as basic and simple people, that will just glee on the shiny and beautiful and be left in awe for years for what's coming. If that was right after the Disney purchase, yeah, I'd be more into it and munch on all of it, but with the track record so far...
Andor is awesome and I can't wait to check Acolyte, but Skeleton Crew to me sounds a lot like them filling up the streaming slot to have something Star Wars in it. Cool for new fans and having something kid friendly for children to watch probably, but in the bigger picture, I am tired of watching various genre stuff with Star Wars skin.
I think that they shall really plan more and do a limited series, that will be renewed for another season if succesful, but all these connected universes and introductions, small foreshadowings... it really only worked for Marvel in it's first three phases, but everyone else failed and LFL is kinda struggling together with their long production schedules, that effectively makes just the actors playing the characters commited for a decade long projects, instead of the classic TV schedules of yearly seasons. Actors die, get sick or have other commitments to make the money, which from pragmatic view makes a lot of issues in the long run, see Lando.

All of this is a reason, why I am so harsh on Ahsoka. Normally, I'd rated it like 8/10... still keeping it at 6, as it still feels like watching a trailer or first 30 minutes of a movie and I won't forgive any production BS going forward with these IPs.

Is there any reason why Huyang could not have plotted the course they had taken while the whales transported them through hyperspace to Peridea?

What about that shuttle that Ezra used to return to Hera's fleet? Could that have a record of the route the Chimera took back from Peridea? Or could Ezra have accessed the Chimera's navigation log before he escaped?

The Eye of Sion had monster engines to make the trip possible. The Chimera left with the Eye of Sion, so it would probably take .... a very long time (in reality millions of years but this ain't reality and neither is hypertravel) to fly home, and that is even if Ahsoka's ship had enough fuel to take them there.

The bad guys didn't seem too have too much difficulty constructing the Eye Of Sion under the NR's nose, partly, on Correlia. I'm not sayin it'll be a snap of the finger job. But knowing the way there and back is the first hurdle. And it's one that can conceivably be cleared. Ahsoka can feel Ezra made it back from a distant galaxy. It's conceivable that the coordinates could be "sent", one way or another, in a similar manner.

Also. The Chimera needed massive engines to go anywhere. That might not go the same for a Jedi shuttle craft.

I usually try to enjoy and not make too much questions although this show it has a lot.

So, excuse my ignorance. Can we assume The Force of our galaxy came from another galaxy? Or Mortis Gods were only the ones to bring balance? Is Mortis in the same galaxy as Peridea?
I remember just a few things about this and I think I will watch again the CW Mortis arc episodes to refresh it. I remember being the coolest episodes cause were so philosophical and different. This is so interesting, something to explore very deep. But explore in a smart and competent way, with proper writers. Hope to see something in Filoni's movie and of course the Dawn of the Jedi one. They can go dark with this.

If Peridea has this powerful Force/ dark energy, why Ezra, as a Force user, didn't notice anything about Mortis in 11 years? Only who receive the "call" can feel it? Anyway, so many years to explore the planet. With Noti and hunters being the only natives, felt quite a small planet.

If Purgils go to Peridea to die, why did they chose that planet during Liberation of Lothal? How many planets Purgils know? They can travel everywhere or only Force rutes?

Are Noti Force sensitives? And how they make their bellboy fancy clothes in that planet?

And most important, how Thrawn clean impeccably his clothes? I guess Star Destroyers also have laundries like the one we saw in TLJ...

Am start thinking we won't get another season from Ahsoka. And I only wish one thing to see in another project: follow Baylan arc story as they planned.
Certainly this show give the sensation all could have been more explored although I liked it.

Who knows. Sometimes the less we expect it can be a bigger surprise. Am really looking forward to it. I have the feeling in some aspects will be better than Ahsoka. All directors involved, majority from A24, and the dark tone make me very excited.
