Exclusive Chinese trailer for Star Wars The Force Awakens

I'm wondering if this gapping is intentional or not. If it is, I wonder if it has something to do with how the saber was constructed, specifically regarding design and compenants used. If it's not...

 

Holy crap!!!! Epic. =)

 

One of the first things we noticed about the saber, along with its unusual crossguard, was how the energy flickers and arcs. It resembles electricity in a way. This screenshot just happened at the right moment when one of those flicker/arc things happened.

Exactly. As it arcs away from the main beam, what does it leave behind?

Perhaps I've missed other examples of this gapping but, from what I have seen, these flickers and arcs you mentioned occur from the edges of the saber, not from within - which is how I interpreted your message. Tbh, I'm probably thinking about this too seriously

 

The saber is sweet.... also, has anyone figured out where Ben got that sound from, any guesses as to what the saber sound is?

 

I still really like the official trailer, the way the music swells when we first see the millennium falcon flying thru the scene. The way it introduces us to the story of Rey and Finn and Kylo. That trailer ended on a subdued not, however, unlike the payoff that the teaser 2 trailer delivered. We have since gotten some really good tv spots and variations with some cool new reveals. While the official trailer promised a story, this one promises the fun. I think it is great. Awesome.

 

Well his saber design is an ancient one that was recently made by him. Maybe the design is from a time before the Jedi and Sith learned to fully tame the power of the kyber crystal.

 

Looks better now IMHO. That graininess and grittiness and more muted color is needed for me. It feels more authentic and true to the original vision.

 

One thing is certain from what we have seen thus far, this will be the most visually impressive film of the saga.

Look, we all crap ourselves at these things, but honestly, when I saw this, I got effing chills at Kylo in the rain with the heavy Imperial March bit, and the end with Kylo striking Finn, I honestly almost fainted. It felt like an icy bullet hit my lungs and took my breath away. I am not kidding. Listen to me, I sound like James Lipton.

 

You know that little clip is most likely a flashback and that will be the complete scene that you'll see in the film regarding the KOR. However, it will be fun to read about it in comics and books. J.J. and Kasdan have opened up and entire NEW EU with the KOR stuff.

I agree. I can't help but wonder though, if the rain scene is on Skellig Michael and one of the big surprises is Luke vs the Knights of Ren.

 

Trailer made me squanch, like everywhere.

One week exactly and i would have seen it 3 times, mental. Feels like yesterday it was 2013 and I had no idea what was coming.

I was reading through old spoilers and articles earlier, interestingly I came across a few rumours about a 'stormy/rainy' scene being filmed on Skellig Michael. I think a good amount of act 3 hasn't been spoiled anywhere yet. In 7 days I might get to see Luke Skywalker in action again face off against Kylo and The Knights of Ren with his fathers lightsaber that Rey hands him near the end
