Dave Filoni is on the record saying he knows what happened to Ahsoka after she left the Jedi Order. George Lucas has also said he feels Clone Wars is about her as much as it is Anakin. So I think it stands to reason the final episode of Season 5 wasn't the last we saw of her (not counting Yoda's vision in the Dagobah cave in Season 6).

Talking it over with a family member who is a former Lucasarts bigwig (you should see some of his memorabilia, by the way), here's our theory. Feel free to dissect.

Obi Wan was entrusted by Yoda with keeping Luke safe on Tatooine until the time came for him to begin his Jedi training. The Lars family was oblivious to his origin and significance so it made sense for him to stay on the fringes until the time was right. That knowledge, both of who his father is and that Obi Wan was still alive (which would lead me to believe that Owen actually did believe he was dead, as well as Anakin and all of the other Jedi) would be dangerous for them otherwise.

However, who did the same for Leia? Wouldn't she need extra-special protection as well? Bail Organa knew the truth of her parentage, but even with his resources still couldn't possibly keep her safe from Vader and Palpatine if they ever learned. SOMEONE trusted by both Yoda, Obi Wan, and Organa had to be chosen to protect her. And who could that be, with the eradication of the Jedi in full swing? Perhaps someone who wasn't actually a Jedi but still possessed the skills and training to do the job? Hmm. Who could that be?

I suspect we'll see Ahsoka protecting Leia once she's introduced on the show. Which I think'll have to happen as the Ghost crew becomes more important to the fledgling rebel alliance and we start to see the bigger picture.

So that's what we think, presented with all of the evidence, including rumors and insider hints.

There is a good chance that Leia is the Fulcrum contact of Hera's. If that is the case we may see Leia show up, and if she is protected by Ahsoka we may see her as well. I don't believe that they would make a character like Ahsoka and invest all that time in writing a story for her just to have her walk away and disappear.

As each episode goes by I get more and more excited to see who will show up and how things are tying together.

Leia, Luke and Ezra are born the same day. She may be a little too young to organize a rebellion.

You're probably right, but I thought I remember reading or watching an interview (I think it was Rebels Report - the one that Star Wars does, not the fan podcast) where Pablo Hidalgo said that Ezra was a day or two older than Luke and Leia. @Chairman Kaga, I've been thinking that too! It raises the question of why she wasn't able to use and or sense the Force (to the degree that Luke was) though. I assume that's it's because Ahsoka never got the chance to teach her, but we'll see. Great theory!

I believe that the Lars' knew EXACTLY who he was, and Owen was lying about Ben being dead.
