Greetings, I thought since I have some free time I'd create some content for once... (go easy on me)...

From the SAGA defining twin suns and sands of Tatooine in ANH, we've seen some incredible landscapes across planets, stars and space. We are blessed with some fine cinematography and each film has it's shots to wow us, what favorites do you rebel scum have?

For me, I'm particularly fond of the Rogue One Jedha destruction scene in general, eerily mesmerizing or as Orson Krennic would say, ''oh it's beautiful''.

Another little gem (sometimes forgotten) is the Battle of Kashyyyk, with the Wookies leading charge.

    And of course...those 'Twin Suns'.

What a great thread! To start with I'll put up two from my 2nd favorite SW movie of all time, R1....first one not truly a "landscape" but it is really cool anyway

Hummm...almost imposible to pick just one. But I am almost sure that the best photography is from TFA.

Some of the best stills frrom TFA:

All the best landscape shots belong to the Disney era; Rogue One doesn't apply as much, but TFA and TLJ are exceptional when it comes to landscape shots

Other have already posted ones I thought were the best.

Here's a decent one from the end of Ep2:

Coruscant throughout ROTS and during the Padme's Ruminations scene is still stunning.

    TLJ had some stunning shots.

Great thread! I have to think about my own favourites... There are so, sooo many good ones in every single SW film, as seen in the screenshots above.

Since it's fresh, TLJ comes to my mind first. I'm not able to provide stills for obvious reasons, but Ahch-To and Crait have a lot of breathtaking landscape shots. Including the ski speeder rush, Luke walking out and facing Kylo (there's that great side shot of the two in combat stances) and a whole bunch of Ahch-To moments like some helicopter shots and more intimate stuff like Yoda and Luke watching the tree burn.

    The gory battlefields of Crait.
    The two suns of Tattooine.
    The perilous emptiness of Hoth.
The fallen holy lands of Jedha.

STAR WARS has got many great landscape shots and wonderful planet designs. Some of the shots I would have mentioned can be seen in the previous posts. There are just two missing: one really, and one just, because I like the idea behind the design:

    - Utapau hasn't got the landscape I would talk about as "beautiful landscape", but it was a very interesting way to design a planet. When you think of the fact that there were many planets before Utapau in the movies and that the designers had to find new and new landscapes again and again, they did a great job with Utapau, while the planets in the sequel trilogy are often a kind of boring or too near to planets we all know
    - While I said, that I wouldn't call Utapau "beautiful", there's one planet in the SW universe that stands for beauty like no other: Naboo. Well, yeah, Naboo can be seen as the proof that the PT was made by Disney, too, but I like Disney, so this isn't a problem for me (;)). But I really wonder that Naboo wasn't mentioned before.

Unfortunately, I'm too stupid to upload some pictures, but maybe someone can help me out with it - thank you in advance.

Han and Chewie's encounter with the imperial probe droid.

Rogue Two flying over Hoth would be my favorite shots though.

For some reason, I find some of the most amazing landscape shots to be in TPM.

Such as this one on Naboo, coming off as incredibly dreamlike:

And the mesmerizing lights of Gungan City:
