I highly agree. I love the fact that a lot of favorites are out. I'm always going for the underdogs. Even though I'm a die-hard Brazil fan I have empathy towards the underdogs.

Yeah, I can really enjoy the competition and appreciate the international skill level once my Americans and Irish are out. That's usually how I watch international sports like this, I get to pick favorites based on what I see. I've watched a good bit this year and Spain, Australia and Sweden have all really looked great. Sorry, the Fenian in me won't allow me to acknowledge any well-doing by the English. Should be three exciting matches though!

The Hebrew in me can relate. My mother is Irish. Go figure.

Have you read The Star and the Shamrock? It's some pretty interesting historical fiction about Jewish refugees in 1940s Ireland.

This is very random, but once upon a time, I did read some Hebrew as part of my Science of Religions/"Religionology" studies. We read from the Old Testament during the course, and it was absolutely friggin' awesome!

Pro insight: Moses runs up and down that stupid mountain an absolutely ridiculous amount of times, and it is all a bit farce'y, to be honest :D

If England's Womens win World Cup, I won't be overjoyed, I be frusrated cos I'm more used with Mens' football. Now England Women team doing really well, people are comparing Womens' football and England team to mens. They saying they better than men, they should have a match to prove it, if people over obessive with it. I'm nothing against womens' football, women & girls playing them and mens & boys supportti g and watching them, to me, I dislike it and more used to and glow up with mens' football. I felt these Womens' World Cup & football been shoved in my face. I'm not enjoying my football, with Harry Kane is not at Manchester United.

I'm not loving my football (soccer) lately, lost to team I now hate after sold the player I want to be in my team. I feel I been over confident that Manchester United may do well, maybe it be one of these days you win one day lose other day, but times like this not sure be get any better. I'm feeling sick of it. Miss glory days and hate teams I hate doing better.

I don't understand how Luis Rubiales can still be president of the spanish football federation.

Not enjoying and loving my football (soccer), hope Manchester United sort themsleve out, try to not focis on rivals and league table, frusrated they doing well and United struggling and even fellow fans attack one of new signing Mason. Not over not having Harry Kane. I love my team but hate football, give me too much pain.

Well the Arsenal Vs Manchester United game was slightly stressful but 2 Very late goals both in injury time ( the amount of extra time being played this year is going to get used too) to s the points & hopefully can really kickk start the season.
Manchester City will probably win the title again but 2nd or 3rd is definitely achievable.

A 0-1 win for Celtic at Ibrox. Not too shabby. Considering the back four was comprised of 2nd to 5th choice players in their respective positions. And each of the full backs had to be replaced in game too.

    Fantastic goal from Kyogo.

Great result and puts us in a really good position in spite of the injury list and new additions not yet bedded in. Good signs.

I believe it fixed they wanted to lose cos they see Arsenal doing alot of attacking and shooting and also a goal disallowed, and even ref look at VAR, they make stuff up and put more times to tired out United cos they put Maguie on. Hope Manchester United sorted themsleve out, cos this Premer League and football is a fix, Man City buying anything like treble season and now they going after Arsenal's Invincibles (Don't how they win the league unbeaten) or even Bareclona's 6 trophies win (they failed to win the Community shield but mighy win Club World Cup & Euro Super Cup. City fans are so in Sky Blue Haven (Don't mock United fans), they were medium club before out of no where billionaire bought it. Spurs stop United from getting Kane and he end up at Bayern with Min Jae (which I hate right now), and now United in same group with Bayern, wanted face them right now, now everyone think United be back in UEFA Cup or be out of Champions League. Now United fans think Mount is worst signing and lost trust Ten Hag and some want United to lose to prove somekind of point or make Glazer sell, but boycotting/wanted United to lose/worst doesn't prove anything, believe most/some are the problem. Football is now a joke, not loving it. (Don't tell me why you like this team or soething).

I just found out that John McGinn and Harry Kane took part in a photo shoot practically on my doorstep yesterday. My apartment is yards away from the site of the very first football match between Scotland and England in 1872.

The two national sides face each other tomorrow night in a friendly match to commemorate the 150 years of the fixture. And I have a ticket! :D

Funny to think that Harry got closer to my front door than he ever got to playing for Man Utd.

I wonder where the German football team is heading. Just sacked the Team Manager. Bundesliga and national team are on their way down.
But I prefer having it that way instead of selling all the teams to rich owners and make the league not more than a Footballmanager game for too wealthy people.

yep first time the German Manager has been sacked :).
Not sure Rudi is a long term solution so their next permanent choice will be very interesting & could they even dare to go for a foreign coach.

I’ve been racking my brains trying to formulate a Yiddish version of Come Out Ye Black And Tans. But I’ve got bupkis.

Still. It’s the thought that counts.

How about The Mensch Behind The Wire? ;)
