Ground-troops vs Ground-troops...?

    Hello and greetings from Germany,

    sorry my english is not the best....

    After seeing the Teaser/Trailer and Clips and also after reading all spoilers for me is one question about the final act is absolutely unclear...Will there a be a battle with Ground-troops vs Ground-troops...?

    I personal hope it so much, but at the moment there are only 2-3 hints of a Ground-troops-battle..
    1. You can see in the Trailer, the "first order" have more than enough troops
    2. I have seen different Lego Snow vehicles ( First Order and Résistance )

    Hello, and welcome!

    I put together the LEGO First Order Transporter. It comes with both FO and Resistance troops, and they are depicted engaging in ground combat in various pics on the box and in the instructions. Whether that actually translates into actual ground combat in the film of the kind you are talking about, I don't know.

    It's a clue, but not a confirmation.

    I think we should see some kind of ground combat, but not a lot. I haven't seen any pics of Rebel ground troops, but it wouldn't make sense to have an entire battalion of First Order troops to capture our 4 main heroes. And, they wouldn't really have ground troops fighting against Xwings. So, I think we should see some ground fighting, but I suspect they are holding out big combat scenes for Rogue One, R1, for some Saving Private Ryan type of images.

    Browsing an English forum is a great way to improve your English so you have more than one reason to stick around :)
    Can't say for certain if there will be any ground-troop fights in TFA but I say it's plausible since there are also new ground vehicles. But a fight like that will probably also involve air vehicles so I'm not sure if there will be fights with just troops and no vehicles at all. But if that's what your hoping for then I guess you have to wait another year for Rogue 1 to see a lot of that.

    There will be ground combat...I'm betting on it. Air power is not an "end-all" to occupation as ground combat is what ends occupation. We'll see it. ;)

    And as there are already toys for 1st Oder snowspeeders incl. snowtroopers around, I’ll hope for some ground action near starkiller base. Fueled by the new image from Entertainment Weekly showing the 1st Order troopers firing their blasters within that base.

    I hope that many scenes from the last act are a secret at this moment. So that we will got much more to see, than we know in the moment.

    And also I hope really, that there will be more than the 4 heroes on the ground in the last act....
