    So I know we have 'Before the Awakening', but from what I can tell that's the only ST-era work announced. How long do you all think it'll take before we start getting novels or comics set in this new era of Star Wars?

    I think we may get some trickles, but we probably won't get things in any great quantity until after Episode VIII is out, since then they can work in the (presumable) time period between the two films, and there will be fewer things that they'd be saving for the films.

    I think we'll start getting things before Episode VIII, though not necessarily soon. Probably before Rogue One though.

    I think we will first see more stories that fill the gap between ROTJ and TFA. We know that two follow-ups to Aftermath and New Republic: Bloodline are coming next year. I expect some stories with more background to TFA. Maybe the story of how Maz obtained Luke's lightsaber, Kylo Ren's fall to the Darkside, or Snoke's origins.

    I don't think we get many post TFA stories, and if we do, they'll be short or fairly self contained. However, I would expect that after Episode VIII comes out, we will get a flurry of stories set in between the two films.
    Most likely, we'll get a bunch of post ROTJ and pre TFA stories the next year and a half.

    I'm very pessimistic on this, thinking they won't allow writers creative freedom with any meaningful characters in the sequel trilogy until all three movies are made. I find Disney/LFL to be very protective of the major characters and just sit on anything more reveling than what said characters had for lunch last Tuesday.

    We will get more stories about people on the sidelines and they will contain glimpses of the major players but nothing like where Snoke came from, whether Finn is force sensitive, who his family is or was etc..
