A Stormtroopers anthology film directed by Kevin Smith in the style of Clerks.

Ehm, I'll leave it up to the spoofmasters for making Star Wars comedies.

Spaceballs, Family Guy stuff, Robot Chicken. Love all of that. Because they have the freedom to do what they want without worrying about harm to the franchise.

If they do go in a comedy direction, they certainly won't invest the time and money in making it a feature film. Too risky.

Lucasfilm planned on producing a comedy animated TV show, Star Wars Detours, with Seth Green, but it fell through when work began on the ST.

From a March 2013 press release:

"At Star Wars Celebration VI last year, George Lucas gave fans a glimpse at the animated comedy series Star Wars Detours from Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, and Todd Grimes. Detours was conceived and produced before we decided to move forward with the new Star Wars trilogy, and in the wake of that decision, Lucasfilm has reconsidered whether launching an animated comedy prior to the launch of Episode VII makes sense. As a result, we’ve decided to postpone the release of Detours until a later date."

Star Wars is already funny. I was watching ANH a few weeks back, and I was actually laughing out loud at Threepio and Artoo. There should always be a bit of humor in starwars. The PT didn't have as much, but it was still there. I think the reason is that Artoo and Threepio never hung out together in the PT.

Yeeeeah, judging by his CinemaSins cameo, I want Kevin Smith to stay away from everything with the title of Star Wars.

Why do you need another comedy?

We already have Jar Jar, ok that might be a Tragedy, but we always have C3PO and R2D2 not to mention Han Solo one line Jokes.

Edit: And by the way we could easily just watch Robot Chicken SW Specials

A stand up comedian in the Star Wars universe does a documentary as he tours across the galaxy from cantina to cantina. Kind of along the lines of "This is Spinal Tap".

Movie could be called: The Cantina Chronicles
    or Laugh It Up Fuzzball...
