One of the tricks why Williams scores work so much in my opinion as a classical music fan, is that he composes more like a classical composer.
It just stands out so much in between all the others because of that. When I listen to Star Wars score for example, it reminds me a lot of Wagner and Strauss.

You are right with the Rebels, it doesn't do anything more or less, just replicates... Which is a pitty, because Clone Wars score in later seasons got really good.

Am I the only one who likes listening to the imperial march while riding down the road? i cant be. it satisfies! I also have the theme as my ringtone. John Williams is the man. He has a real ear for great music and he know how to put it all together. A true living legend, he will be as remembered as Bach or Chopin are.

I've been listening to all of the scores non-stop for a few weeks including TCW. I have to say, the TCW score does a great job of visiting existing themes whilst creating new ones. The punchier, more synthesised feel of TCW can feel a little out of place when listening to it alone, but it never seems amiss in the series. It's a great score for maintaining the original feel with a new twist.

I'm not really upset or surprised regarding Rebels. They're clearly trying to bring the audience as close to the OT as possible to let people know that Star Wars is still the same great franchise it was and as such I think they haven't exactly experimented with this one. I can't complain though - the OT soundtrack is phenomenal, although I can see why it's disappointing not to see something new and I am myself to a degree.

Really excited to see what the ST does for music, but I am scared that they will recycle old themes most of the way. I don't just want the Imperial March and the Force Theme the whole way (despite how great they both are).
