Following Empire Magazine's cover reveal last week, the publication has released snippets of its interviews with various cast members, including one with Samuel L. Jackson where he claims Mace Windu is still alive. The famed actor also expressed his desire to make a new Disney Plus show centered on the revered Jedi Master.

Last week, Empire Magazine unveiled its covers for the April edition that will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Star Wars prequels. Star Wars: The Phantom Menace was released in theaters in May 1999. Since then, Empire also shared part of its interview with Hayden Christensen and announced that The Phantom Menace will return to theaters in May of this year.

Much like his Star Wars character, Samuel L. Jackson was short but impactful with his words. In the small part of the interview that Empire shared, it asked what his thoughts were on Mace Windu's death scene. To which, he exclaimed, 'HE'S NOT DEAD!!!' Empire then asked Jackson what he would like to see in a Mace Windu Disney Plus series, to which he replied, 'EVERYTHING YES!!' (emphasis theirs).

Whether or not Disney and Lucasfilm will respond to the call remains to be seen. However, the character's popularity has certainly not slowed down in recent years. Just last week, Marvel released a new comic series titled Star Wars: Mace Windu, focusing on the character before The Phantom Menace. In my review of issue #1, I scored it an 8.5 out of 10, pointing out the comic's action and characterization were spot on. There is also the new novel by writer Steven Barnes titled Star Wars: The Glass Abyss that spotlights Mace Windu, coming out on August 6, 2024. Finally, acclaimed Star Wars writer John Jackson Miller returns this April with his new novel titled Star Wars: The Living Force, set one year before The Phantom Menace, and will also feature Mace Windu.

With this year marking the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace, fans can most likely expect more interviews and features with the cast members of the prequel trilogy. There are also other projects like Darth Maul: Black, White & Red that commemorate the legacy of the film in some way. It's very likely more content like this will be revealed very soon.

Why not? I mean, eventually the return of characters we thought were dead will just become funny.

Mace been frozen in carbon in Mustafar castle basement and is found in the time of Rey Skywalker. Someone froze Mace before he died and eventually sold it to Vader for bounty. Rey finds him while investigating Vaders castle and heals him after unfreezing. You age slower in carbon but he still aged.
Now you have an elder Mace Windu in the ti:e of Rey.

I saw someone on Twitter suggest making a revived Mace Windu a clone similar to Joruus C'Baoth, and honestly if they absolutely had to bring the character back I wouldn't mind them taking that route...
