WHAT?! You mean there are other movies besides Star Wars?!

    Apparently. LOL :p

Is anyone else a HUGE Mad Max fan? I am so looking forward to MM: Fury Road with Tom Hardy as the new Max and Charlize Theron as Furiosa. Supposed to be out May 15th 2015.

The first is low-budget and a little cheesy but in a good way. Mad Max The Road Warrior is one of the greatest movies of all time and is highly under-rated. And Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is a fitting ending, but this reboot looks pretty badass. I highly suggest watching the originals. Those movies are Mel's best -- before he became a canned ham.

Can't believe no one else is interested in this . . . . must still be a "cult classic!" :p

The Road Warrior was perfectly paced and completely awesome, with a sparing use of dialogue and perfectly choreographed shots to make you really believe you were in the post-apocalyptic Australian outback. Mel Gibson, whether he is (a neo-nazi or something?) or not, was amazing as the stoic, handsome former pursuit police officer, and the chase scene at the end was up there with the attack on the Death Star in fast-paced heart-racing raw action. The Humungus and his crew were classic post-apocalyptic villains - evil, violent, leather-wearing rapists, and Wez is one of the greatest Dragons in any film, his raw, feral passion, makes you terrified when he gets on the screen.

Fury Road looks pretty cool from the trailer, but its hard to tell whether it'll be as pure awesome as The Road Warrior. It might just be the trailer, but it looks like they were using some color filters that made it look a lot less like an 80's movie, and more like, um...Transformers or something.

Fury Road may get a big draw it's first few weeks but I don't see it being a massive blockbuster.
Few people realize the movie; The Road Warrior(1981) was a sequel. The first film in the trilogy was Mad Max(1979).
Mel Gibson played a highway patrol cop in a muscle car that had to deal with a bunch of rowdy bikers & ya-hoos. The apocalypse & nuclear war didn't happen yet. That "end times" back-drop was in The Road Warrior.
The 2015 Fury Road may be a cult hit but I don't think the genre really has the same spark as the 1980s era(Cold War).
The similar film; The Book of Eli, with movie star Denzel Washington wasn't a huge hit.
If a plot or theme can't get a audience then sequels/trilogy plots will go no-where.

The Terminator films are a good example. Christian Bale & Sam Worthington were set up to do 3 new Terminator films. BUT, the lack of $$$/box office & a few other issues cut the plan.

Yeah, I think Mad Max is more of a cult hit. I'm not sure it will be a huge general draw. BUT I will definitely be seeing it.

    New trailer!

With today's technology its clear to say that this will be the most visually stunning and epic of the Mad Max movies. I just hope there's a decent story, not that these films really require much story anyway.

Yes, it looks fantastic! Classic Miller in that its frenetic, chaos and little dialogue.

I saw it last night! First of all, I have to say that the practical effects were phenomenal; there's is still at least one heavily CGI'd scene, but you'll understand why when you see it. Having never seen any of the previous Mad Max films, I didn't quite know what to expect and was slightly disappointed by the bare-bones plot, but it is my understanding that this was intentional so that the film would feel like a 2 hour car chase. If you're excited to see it, it brilliantly delivers.

Undoubtedly one of the best cinematic experiences i've ever had. HAS to be seen in theaters. First 1/2 hour in particular is nothing short of heart-stopping.

Tom Hardy is impressive as he is in most films; the relationship Max builds with Charlize Theron's character through such little dialogue is still entirely convincing.

The 3D female characters with distinct & differing personalities is refreshing; Theron's Furiosa is basically the film's lead.

No prior knowledge of the Mad Max universe needed going in.

Hard to imagine being as floored as I was watching this by another movie this year. The surprise, the blindsiding of it all was certainly a factor. Will still check out TFA though I suppose...

I loved this movie. The stunts were great. I loved the crazy, gritty world that George Miller created. I was amazed at how he was able to create such memorable characters with so little dialog.
My favourite quote is: "You will ride eternal, shiny and chrome."
