    Finally.
I wonder who the villain(s) will be?

wow- it'll release over a decade after the first Man of Steel... and given the DCEU's pace, well over a decade, if we end up ever getting it at all, even.

    still, exciting, though!

Shot in the dark (and maybe because my DCEU knowledge is pretty rusty), but I'd imagine Brainiac is a very likely villain for a MoS 2. He'd be a lot of fun, and would fit in relatively well with the DCEU that's been established.

Other possible ones could include Darkseid (if the Snyderverse is truly dead), or maybe a followup of Joe Mangelenno's take on Deathstroke assuming he's a minor villain with a kryptonite bullet.

Bizarro or Mxyzptlk could be fun, and I'd love to see the DCEU loosen up a little bit and try something like them... but I doubt it.

Cool news! Please no more Lex Luthor, I've seen plenty of Lex as a Superman villain.

Totally agree. The list of potential villain that @cawatrooper mentioned above sound interesting. Probably because I'm only familiar with one, Darkseid.

Sounds about right. Braniac is one of Superman's most well-known and beloved villains, and it's interesting that we haven't seen him yet. (We've also had enough time (and more than enough controversies) from Age of Ultron so that it won't feel derivative.)
I'm not the largest Superman fan, but I love Superman Unchained and Godfall stories. Admittedly Godfall would be VERY problematic to adapt, but I can see them doing an amalgamation of that and the famous "For the Man Who Has Everything" story. ...and now I lowkey want to write a draft of that...

Godfall would be interesting, but I feel like even though the DCEU is about as old as the MCU was by the time Endgame came out, I'm not sure it's been nearly established enough to tackle a story like that.

We've barely gotten our "regular world" Superman story yet- stuff like the 2013-2017 era of the MCU, where everything had momentum post Avengers, but wasn't quite Thanos-level bonkers yet. We haven't had a significant canon appearance of Superman in almost five IRL years, and I imagine it'll at least be 2+ more years before MoS2 releases.

So, while I want to see something like that eventually, I think the DCEU has already had a massive problem with rushing things. They really need to just take their time and enjoy their universe a little bit.

I haven't seen a new Superman movie since Quest For Peace.... so let's bust back out Nuclear Man. :D

I believe Batman v. Superman grounded Superman, ( the reception, and it didn't make what was expected, it did not make a billion dollars, close with 873k world wide) also all the rumors that Cavil is hard to work with, he wants more muni, which is reasonable, etc. Now that BvS is off everyone's mind, and the Rock really wants to make a film with Cavil/Superman, we might get MOS2. Black Adam's box office will also play a major role in all this... that's my 2 cents... not getting my hopes up till they actually start filming MOS2.

I would think the villain would be Black Adam, but I don't know he and Supe ever crossed paths.

They have, but it'd be kind of odd for the second Superman movie in this universe to feature him as a villain.

It'd be like if the villain in the second Spiderman was Klaw. Have they met, over the decades? Very possibly. But there are so many other options that make more sense.

If anything, I'd imagine the post credit scene for Black Adam referred more to either a cold open fight in a coming movie (Man of Steel 2, possibly) or a total crossover film akin to Godzilla vs Kong.

Personally, I'd imagine this will lead into some sort of conflict or teamup in the next event film, like if we get a new Justice League.
