With Marvel publishing Star Wars comics, and both entities owned by Disney, a just-for-fun non-canonical Marvel Superheroes/Star Wars crossover seems like a no-brainer to me. Both Marvel and Star Wars have a long history of "what if" stories (the Marvel "What If?" books, Star Wars Tales, Star Wars Infinities). Just slap a "What If" in the title so nobody confuses it for canon.

But how would it work? Here are my three ideas:

    1. Go small. Just have one character cross over. My idea: "Vader Kills The Marvel Universe." Maybe Vader is on a Star Destroyer that gets sucked into a black hole and it spits him out in the Marvel universe. He has to fight iconic Marvel characters on his way back to his own time and galaxy.

    2. Go different. Retell the story of the original Star Wars, set in the Star Wars universe, but integrate versions of the Marvel characters. Think Marvel's Fairy Tale series, or Marvel 1602, but with Star Wars.

    3. Go cosmic. Have a straight-forward clash between the Marvel Cosmic characters (Thanos, the Guardians of the Galaxy, etc.) and the Star Wars universe.

What do you think? How would you handle this "What If?" crossover? Or are you just a killjoy who wouldn't want this to happen at all?
