Before we get going I have to correct myself. I was under the impression this would be the last issue of the series. I was wrong. We may just be getting started, but I'm not going to spoil that for you here....

This issue follows suit in what has been an excellent look into the immediate aftermath of Order 66. We have followed young Padawan Kaleb Dume through Hell and back to arrive at a place where he is ready to rejected what the rest of the galaxy already has....the Jedi.

The last thing he has to survive as a Padawan are the two Clone Troopers who finally caught up with him. This is an interesting glimpse we are given into the dilemma some Clone Troopers must have had when it came to turning on the Jedi. The Jedi were more than their commanders-they were their friends and also served as a moral compass.

Kanan was taken capture at the end of the last issue. Janus Kasmir and General Kleeve have teamed up to help rescue the Padawan from the Clone Troopers.

Kanan needs little help, though. He decides to use the Force one last time to get himself out of the sticky situation. Let's just leave it at that so you can enjoy that one for yourselves.

I really don't have much to say about this issue because it is pretty straightforward. Greg Weisman leaves us hanging a little bit with possibly more stories that may tie into the Rebels story. If you have been following this arc I can't think of a reason to stop now. The more I learn about Kanan the more I want to know. This post-ROTS period is being fleshed out more and more in the new canon and I'm not losing any interest.

I was so, so happy that
    Janus didn't die
    , as we might
see him again in the following one-shot issue
before the next arc. Still, it was touching, because Janus was, of course, right and Caleb was protecting him.

I liked that the clones were given some character, beside being a bunch of Manchurian candidates, as well as the team-up between Janus and Kleeve to save Caleb. I wonder
    if they remained partners
for all these following years. Maybe we see both of them in the following issue. I would really like that.

All in all, this was a great arc and great insight into Kanan's past. We are going to see more and I wonder if they'll eventually tie the story to A New Dawn. People should definitely pick up this comic. It is my favorite (though the first arc of Darth Vader is very, very close second) of the new canon comics.

I've been a little lukewarm on The Last Padawan's whole run, but I thought that this was a good end to the arc. I thought that it did a good job of wrapping up the chase, especially how Caleb tried to get though to the clones and the repercussions thereof. I like where we left the now-Kanan and how it leaves room for more (a lot more) to happen before we pick back up with him in A New Dawn.

I'm not quite sure why they felt the need to bookend the arc with those scenes in the Ghost though. I didn't bother me overmuch at the beginning (even though I thought it was a little odd), but here I think it really weakened the ending, and was unnecessary.

Apart from that though, good issue! I'm looking forward to the one-shot next.

I really love Kanan now. As much as Kyle Katarn being a swashbuckling, 10-Gun-wielding, btw-also-a-jedi was amazing, Kanan just has depth to his character, Watching him on Rebels, he seems like he's just see stuff and lived through a massive amount of personal and galactic conflict, and seeing how Rebels and Kanan's life, etc all happens, it is great that Lucasfilm is make him a very unique and troubled character. I hope in the Kanan series we have parts of A New Dawn appear in drawing and connections to that book to really make it very interconnected, Great review @Kyle, I really loved this miniseries!

    Grey. Thank you.

I haven't posted here for a while but I loved this issue so I thought it would be a good time to start again. Let's hope we see Janus again!

So far, IMO, the Kanan series is the best of the new Star Wars comics. Well, maybe tied with the Vader series.
This past issue really punched me in the feels with the whole "Making it right" thing. I really wasn't too interested in Kanan until I started reading this series. It really made me like him a lot.
Unfortunately though, most people won't read these comics, and will only know him as he's represented in Rebels.

This have proably been mentioned 500 times, but it was so powerful seeing Grey disobeying direct orders and actually take control over the implant (can one call it a implant?). While Styles felt completely brain-washed and waited for Grey so that they together could watch the death of Caleb/Kanan. Grey wasn't very excited about and just wanted it done. Styles had become the very evil he had sworn to eliminate. At least Grey could see that and at least save one Jedi's life. Does anyone else think that Caleb knows that Grey actually saved him? Although I'm not so excited for the next, not arc, but perhaps chapter of Caleb's life.
Love the artwork of this series!

another solid issue. I do wish we got to see more of Kanan's adventures with Janus. Like 2 years worth of issues. Their time together feels a little short.
Is this now a Rebels series?
Also, is Commander Grey the first unsung Rebel?

No, but the next issue is a Rebels tie-in, with Rebels on the same planet this Kanan arc ended. Then the next Kanan arc begins. I think it is called First Blood.

Oh, and apparently it is about Kanan's first mission as padawan.
