Okay, I'm just going to get right to it.

I didn't think Daisy Ridley did a very good acting job. No charisma, fell flat and was like a drama school actress. Did not work for me on any level.

As for the character....where is the intrigue or investment? If a hero is so strong to begin with, without flaws, then where is the drama?

Batman mourns over the death of his family and is loner, Superman has kryptonite, Luke needed training to defeat Vader. But Rey is a great pilot, resourceful, and is super amazing at the force and with a lightsaber. So how is this character interesting? An interesting hero is someone with flaws and restrictions. But with Rey, she is already so perfect and powerful that why should I care for her?

I guess it's a different age of filmmaking where Star Wars must now be punished for not having enough powerful women back in the originals.

I don't think Daisy did a terrible performance, but it didn't effect what I thought her character. I have a few issues with the character, but that was more story based facts opposed to acting. I was most concerned about her performance considering she's had the least experience, but I enjoyed it.
Compare her to Mark Hamill and his portrayal of Luke in A New Hope. There were times when he overacted, or underacted, and times when it was perfect for the story. He's not the best actor in the world (I prefer his voice acting), but his Luke Skywalker... No one else could have done it!
Likewise with Daisy Ridley. There were a few times when her acting left a little to be desired, but I feel (as an actor) she was wonderful.
My main problems with her character come from the story, not her. She simply acted what she read. Good for her.

I find it interesting when people seem to focus on this kind of sentiment and cling to the idea that they're being wronged because women are in this film. But, of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I found Rey to be wonderful in this movie. Looking forward to seeing her again in an hour.

He has one person for each trilogy in his head. I think that Daisy did a decent job but could have easily been much better, let's all just give her a chance...she was super nervous as we all would be and she was a literally NEW actress besides a few short films. I will admit that her style at times was a bit odd, but hey, that's her interpretation of the character and we have ours .

I don't know what film some of you watched, but Daisy Ridley was fantastic. She had the ability with simple face expressions to make her emotions shine. She acted scared when necessary, angry, vulnerable, lonely, and a natural leader. I think it will come out later that she is probably Luke's daughter, and for some reason, the force is very powerful in her, but laid dormant until it needed to be awoken for her to survive. I think she is the Skywalker line that will continue the story. But, as for Ridley's acting ability, she was amazing. Watching her eyes, such as when Finn is leaving her at the pub, she just looked betrayed and hurt, and when she was tapping into the force while fighting Kylo, you could just sense the force flowing in her veins. I have watched it twice now, and after the 2nd time, I like it SO much more now that I'm not waiting for Luke to show up and save the day.

It seems like she should be teaching luke things and not the other way around and thats problem when the lore of star wars emphasizes the importance of training. I thought daisy ridley's performance however was great.

Her character being broing wouldn't have been so bad if kylo ren wasn't so lame. I usually root for the villains especially if the hero's are perfect but between Rey and kylo I have no one to root for.

Well, I will tell you that. McGregor is mostly terrible as OB1, but it's probably not all his fault.

Excuse meeee? Well you said "women" not "woman". Because there was one but obviously sidelined since the focus was on Luke.
