SPECULATION My take on Rogue One!

    Since we know it is described as a war movie with the stealing of the Death Star plans. I am going to picture by picture with some content on how it goes from my point of view.

    First thing on my mind is will we have a crawl like in the chapters?
    1.So some how they have to have learned about the new weapon, my guess is from spies.
    The Bothan Spynet. These guys work for the newly formed Rebel alliance. So some how they got word about the new Death Star and gave word to the Rebel Alliance but not get plans themselves for some reason.

    2.Rebel briefing room on aboard one of the main ships. Mon Martha or whatever briefs the teams on what to do.

    4.Bounty Hunters are hired as a commando special team to go into the Imperial base which the plans are located, as rebel ground troops attack for a distraction.

    8.Imperials evade with the Death Star plans. But a Rebel ship near by intercepts the plans being transmitted from the Imperial base.

    Could be almost exactly like that!!! I found the below on Wookieepedia.

    I REALLY hope Rogue One follows this line. It would give us another FANTASTIC fleet space battle with ORIGINAL X-Wings and Y-Wings and would offer an intense ground battle Battlefront style plus add in the sneaky Spec Ops type operations as well. Would make for a great Star Wars "War" movie!!!

    The Battle of Toprawa was an early battle in the Galactic Civil War in which the Alliance to Restore the Republic captured a large portion of the Death Star plans from the Galactic Empire. It was the first significant space battle for the fledgling Rebellion, and its first major victory.

    After raiding an Imperial convoy above Toprawa and capturing the plans, augmenting them with other plans from a research station on the planet's surface and yet others from a facility on Danuta, the Toprawa Rebels needed a way to transmit the plans off Toprawa and into the hands of the larger Rebellion. The Empire declared the planet a restricted zone, but the Rebels got their chance when Princess Leia Organa arrived in-system in the Tantive IV. The Toprawa Rebels seized an Imperial communications center and transmitted the plans to the Princess's ship while holding off Imperial ground forces. The Tantive IV narrowly escaped the system, with the Star Destroyer Devastator in pursuit, but the majority of the ground forces were killed in the process, and the others were forced into hiding."

    Does Rogue One have anything to do with an X-Wing squadron or is it the name of the Operation or Rebels who try to get the plans.

    We don't know yet. All we know is that it's set before EP IV an is about the Rebellion stealing the plans to the Death Star. We don't know the tie in to the title.

    *it could be the name of the ground diversion ground squad which get wiped out & the x wing squad is later named in there memory or if the whole squad are bounty hunter as has been rumoured then they are literally a bunch of ROGUES ala the Dirty Dozen
