The Book of Boba Fett is currently in contention for four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie. As part of their For Your Consideration campaign, ILM has released a brand-new video on YouTube highlighting some of the most impressive aspects of the show's complex visual effects.

The eight-minute video is divided into two segments. The first plays as a recollection of the best moments of the VFX used in the show, while the second segment, which starts at around the 4:10 minute mark, dives deep behind how those moments were achieved. Narrated by visual effects supervisor Richard Bluff, the video gives us new insights into how the BT-16 perimeter droid was created through stop-motion animation, how they used the Volume to film the scenes where Din is flying the N-1 starfighter, or how they brought young Luke to life through deepfake tech. Check it out here:

All four categories The Book of Boba Fett is nominated for will be revealed during the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, a two-night ceremony held on September 3-4. In the Visual Effects category, the show is going up against Foundation, Lost in Space, Stranger Things, and The Witcher.
