SPECULATION Next big SW anouncement event?

    Hi, all,

    So, like Little Ani, I was wondering... Now that May 4th is behind us, what's the next big Star Wars event we can look forward to?

    Assuming TBB runs for 16 weekly episodes, that's gonna carry us over til about mid-August (assuming there's no break in releases over the summer). Then, between TBB & TBoBF, there's gonna be about four months of downtime, although LFL will, of course, promote TBoBF some, but how and when?

    Comic Con is postponed till December, so that's too close to TBoBF release to be used as a big promo event, I feel.

    What about Gen Con (16-19 September). Is that sometimes used for promoting SW stuff?

    The next Disney Investors' Day could be another possibility, but we don't know when that'll be, I believe. (It was on December 10th last year, but April 11th in 2019, so who knows?)

    Are there any other obvious must-keep-an-eye-on events coming up before TBoBF launches? :)

    Well, there is always May 25th, of course, which will be the third (and hopefully the last) annual #MakeSolo2Happen Day, spearheaded by our own fantastic Resistance Broadcast crew :D I don't expect any LFL announcements on that day, but it sure would be awesome if it happened!

    Hopefully some good news on upcoming games, the platform where SW has the most potential, in my opinion.

    Other than that, I think the Disney Investor Meeting is the next best guess. But who knows, maybe Lucasfilm is having a quiet year before unleashing everything on us next year. They may just pull a Nintendo and have a bunch of smaller announcements throughout the year when individual things are ready. I honestly can't say.

    I'm not a big video gamer, but I'd be mildly interested in another ambitious SW title! SW J:FO was pretty good (+ for story/- for infuriating game play), and Battlefront 2 had a cool campaign, too (- for infuriating starship game play/and I never played the multi-player thing). SW:S I never played (but I hear it's very buggy?)

    Those feel like they could be E3 announcements. And since E3 is right around the corner (June 12-15), we'll hopefully see it sooner than later!

    To me this sounds the most likely, especially with what they unleashed at last years investor meeting. I guess we will get updates on those announced projects. So perhaps we might get filming periods for Ahsoka and other series coming up, a cast reveal of TBoBF, perhaps a second season of TBB announced. Of course the trailers for Andor and Obi-Wan will be coming at some point, so perhaps that could hit at Comic Con together with a The Book of Boba Fett premiere for fans. That would be one hell of an event.

    And yeah, I am sure we will get some E3 news on Star Wars games.

    That's true. It was supposed to be released in 2021, so perhaps we will get a trailer of that soon. It's 10 short films (around 20 minutes). 1 of the short films has a novel called Ronan connected to it, which is released October 12 2021. So that might be an indication of when we could expect Visions to be released.

    So, update: The next big SW announcement thingy is likely to be Disney+ Day (November 12th) and Destination D23 (November 19th-21st).

    Who knows if we'll get anything new announced (#MakeSolo2Happen), but we'll for sure get more info on some of the many things that's already in the pipeline. Exciting :D
