You are correct, sir... just happy all of the AOTC bashing maybe somewhat over with... AOTC isn't the best SW film, Anakin isn't smooth like Lando, give the kid a break, I was an alter boy too I get it... anywho... just saying... moving along now... :D

On another note, I want a Jedi film along the lines of MANDO... with new direction, and with brilliant dialogue, can we get that? Jedi faltering like Anakin... Jedi like OB1 who have faith and will not falter... if you can't be a Jedi, be brave and walk away, like Ashoka did... I'm a Correction Officer in real life, one can not walk both sides of the tier... you'll eventually find yourself behind bars too...

I hope the next SW film shows us the glory of the Jedi... its supposed to be set 100 years before the Prequel trilogy or some other... can it be done?

Hayden's full range was on display throughout the final 2 PT films, anyone who disputes this didn't watch the movies.

Two things that matter most to me. One - Marcia Lucas (& all the subtle warmth that she brought) was replaced by Ric "Yes, George, everything ur saying right now is the best idea ever" McCallum and Two = only Jack Nicholson can away with saying craptastic things like: "I wish I could wish away my feelings." Also - Anakin was Darth de Bergerac all by himself and long before uncle Sheev ever poured a honey potion in his ear and whispered something, something dark side.

EDIT: In case anyone forgets, Attack of the Jangos is my least favorite of those three.
Hayden was not the problem with that film, but I digress.

OB1, or rather Ben Kenobi is my favorite character in SW, so I have a soft spot for the Jedi/AOTC... I fully understand that its not a good film... Attack of Jangos is hilarious...HAHA ATTACK OF THE CLOWNS... HEHE

I've never once seen any evidence* of this being the case. In fact there's instances of McCallum openly questioning choices that were made. Even in the commentary for ROTS right at the start he highlights the part in the opening crawl about there being "heroes on either side" and how he could never get a satisfying answer from George about how that played out and who those heroes were. And that he doesn't buy it.

Unless I'm mistaken and I've ignored some compelling evidence to the contrary, I suspect that McCallum has just served as a useful scapegoat for the fans to explain Lucas making choices that we reasonably think he should have been encouraged to at least reconsider. I get the feeling as well that McCallum had too much on his plate at the time handling the PT's production even if he did have a voice.

And I think it's probably time for us fans to kick the habit of using McCallum's alleged/supposed tacit and direct complicity as a prop for explaining the PT's perceived failings.

(*some might say that the prequel films themselves are evidence enough but that's a cop out IMO)

The Cantina, bro. The flash of a lightsaber with a quick glance across the room.

Epic badassery in it's purest, most eloquent form.

    Then the Death Star happened.

    Ben is hero.

I can appreciate AotC - it moves the story forward - but that film is so underwhelming.
That's the one Star Wars' prequel film where I say "Dang.... what REALLY could have have been."

In regard to "Attack of the Clones", I cannot recall some fans being specific on why they dislike it, other than Anakin should have become Vader in this film. At times, it feels as if many have expressed their dislike of the 2002 movie, because it was the "in thing" to do. I'm a fan of the movie. But in my review of it, I did point out what I believe was some of its flaws.

I'm a fan of "The Mandalorian" as much as the next person. But aside from a few catchphrases, I don't recall the series teaming with "brilliant dialogue". And as much as I love that series, it has some problems.

Or......maybe it was because it was a really bad movie.

Just as The Empire Strikes Back is routinely rating #1, AOTC is widely-regarded as the worst SW film.
To quote Master Yoda, "Brilliant dialogue does not a film make great."

@DeeRush Brilliant maybe a little over the top, I'd say dialogue and direction that brings about verisimilitude.

Rated #1, for me, my favorite is ANH or just Star Wars... TESB, for me, is just a great sequel. Films are subjective...

    Well stated.

That said; The Empire Strikes Back is the greatest sequel of all time.

When it comes to action-adventure sequels (film #2 in the franchise), there's been some really great ones. My list includes: (in no particular order)
    • LOTR: The Two Towers
    • Terminator 2: Judgement Day
    • The Dark Knight
    • Aliens
    • Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
    • Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
    • The Road Warrior

While throwing in that I did like Die Hard 2, I can't help to point out that we're going slightly off-topic.

These four exist on the same pedestal; somewhere.... under the throne of The Empire Strikes Back.

Yeah, DH2 belongs on the second tier with the aforementioned.

(pwned)"The dark side of the force is a path to many off-topic conversations, that some moderators consider to be unnatural...."(pwned)

Swinging this Star Destroyer back around for the Meisters of Discussion, the question for me now is....
does KENOBI Episode II meet the standard set by TESB?
