In a spout of creativity I just coined the phrase Anti-Spacesaber Brigade for those who are skeptics of the floating lightsaber or any variation thereof involving a lightsaber falling from the sky.

This got me wondering, what sort of other set in stone concepts do we seem to have people on one side or the other? Kylo Ren Solo, Secret Agent Finn, Happily Married Han, Domhnall Skywalker, and many many more.

So let's use this thread to declare our allegiance. I am a supporter of spacesabers, critic and skeptic of Kylo Ren Solo and Secret Agent Finn, notorious supporter of the Third Order, down with the Imperial Kylo (the good down), hesitant accepter of Rey Solowalker, and a member of the Pro-Abrams/Kasdan alliance

I pretty much agree with all of that except the space saber.

Mainly because we have no REAL idea who's it is or how it got there.

Is it Luke's? Green or blue. Perhaps it's Vaders. Was it just randomly floating through space? How'd it survive the atmosphere? Did it lamd after say,,.a spaceship crashed?

    Who's on first?

I have no issues with Solo kids running around but I really don't want to see kids who are fathered by Luke Gleeson or otherwise.

I know some people are 4 square against any characters who started on TV being in the movies. I would actually like to see some crossover.

I like the idea of either Luke's or Vader's lightsaber being important, although I think having it float through space is kind of dumb. I would rather see someone fish it out of some rubble and pass it on from person to person. Or at least find it floating in space and pick it up, as opposed to it somehow falling through the atmosphere.

I also like the idea of Kylo and Rey being siblings, but I'm torn because I kind of want Kylo to be Han Solo's son and Rey to be Luke Skywalker's daughter. I don't really care for Finn being a secret agent or Domhnall being Luke's son. I'd be okay with Domhnall being a descendant of Tarkin who wants revenge on our heroes, though. It would give his character some nice motivation (assuming he's evil).

I also think the cross-guard lightsaber looks cool (is that still a thing? Do people still hate that?).

I am vehemently against the Spacesaber, or any variation of a lightsaber McGuffin. It just doesn't spark my interest, it sounds like a plot from one of the younger-generation of old EU books (something like out of "Young Jedi Knights").

As for the rest...I'm kind of ambivalent. I do believe in the team of Abrams/Kasdan, so I'm optimistic for the actual movie. The rumors and speculation going around though....I just can't help feeling like we're all missing so much, concentrating on details that either won't be in the film or won't have much consequence.

So as long as there's no "Quest to remind Luke to never drop his saber", I'll be okay.

I've changed my mind on most topics, several times, and stated my opinions. I don't care if I'm right or wrong. I'm hoping the movie will be origional, and a solid film as a whole. If Plagueis shows up, I will LOL in the theatre and cheer for all the crazy DP theorists. I don't think Kylo will be related to anyone, but hey, it's star wars. If the opening shot is a light sabre floating in space, I'll do a face palm, let out a groan of some sort, then get back to enjoying the movie. When I get home and go to the cantina, the only response I'll be able to type for days will be "lightsaber. .....space.......lightsaber. ....space." I really do feel that we have no concept of how good this plot will be. I think the characters will fit perfectly into this modern star wars sequel. Even it everything turns out on the other side of fence from what I do or don't want, or believe, I'm sure I'll still eventually watch it at least 100 times. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I know I will.

I think that it's a good chance that Rey and Kylo Ren are Han and Leia's kids, which I think is an awesome idea. The idea of Finn being a Stormtrooper who defects is also great. I really like most of the concepts, except I'm iffy on the spacesaber. It really comes down to the execution on that one.

Oh no. If I mention Plagueis will this thread derail? Don't let that happen, people! :D

If I am completely honest, the ONLY thing I've heard about the new movie that I really like is that there's going to be one. Everything else could be anything at all at this stage....

I am on the side of JJ and Kasden creating a good story. I'm reading the spoilers but I'm going to go into the movie with no preconceived notions and try to enjoy the movie based on what I'm shown and not what I think is or should be in it. As long as the execution is good and the new characters bring me into their world I'll enjoy the movie immensely

I am not on the side of Finn being a secret agent. I prefer the defecting stormtrooper storyline better.

The lightsaber in space if executed right is ok with me as long as there is no hand attached to it.

I'm on the side of Rey becoming a kickass female Jedi. I'm really ok if she is a Solo, Skywalker, or neither. She is the character that right now interests me the most.

I'm in the side if Kylo being devious and a little unhinged. I'm ok if he and Rey are related only if it is older brother/younger sister. Not ok with the Jacen/Jaina twin angle.

Although Plagueis is dead (and thinks he should remain that way), I'm ok if he is ressurected as long as it is believable and executed well.

And finally I'm not on the side of the haters who no matter how good the movie is will show up here after the movie is released to Vhlor, whine, complain just for the sake of doing it.

The only thing that actually will annoy me is if no one turns out to be from the Skywalker line.

Now, that can wait until the next movie, but if the trilogy isn't going to keep with that theme? I'll be a little annoyed that they went with such an obvious departure for NO reason...other than to be different.

I support the spacesaber and Hamill is hardly in the movie rumours, but i can never say they are facts until the movie is out.

Everyone that dismisses the Hamill rumour has every right to question it, but i'm sick and tired of this "I don't like the rumour...thus it false" vocal minority.

I'm firmly on the side against all things we consider to be true so far. I'm a fervent follower of Spoilerman and await his return and the 1000 years of Star Wars that will follow.

Firmly believe Han and Leia are together still. I believe Max Von Sydow will play a more major role than we've been lead to believe by Jason. As one of the beginners of the "Van Sydow is Syfo-Dias" rumor I cling to it even if it's looking unlikely. I believe, I know in my heart, that Lando is alive and well.

More than anything I believe Gleeson is a good guy and Luke's son. He's just so talented, that while I think he'd make an incredible Imperial Leader, I feel he's on the side of the light. I think Luke is way more involved than we've been led to believe and planted Gleeson in the enemy camp. He's much further ahead than "Uber" believes. All the things I've said before this paragraph are starting to crumble around me, but this one I think is a safeguarded key to the movie. I'd wager on it.
