Poe, Leia, Finn and Rose Storyline Rewrite

Poe and Leia and Holdo, Finn and Rose, DJ and Maz Kanata storyline rewrite:

• Story starts THE SAME.
• Leia demotes Poe, then is in a coma after an explosion blows a hole in the bridge of her ship and destroys the resistance fighter ships. In one sequence, where air is being jettisoned from the bridge, Leia, after being knocked in the head, bloodied, is slipping along the wall about to be sucked out into space, she partially comes to and force pulls some smooth, rounded loose metal to the breach/hole in the bridge which slows the depressurization and pull of space that was sucking her out of the ship and then uses the force and a loose object to press a button across the bridge that initiates emergency shields to re"secure" the bridge.
• Holdo is now in charge and Holdo has NO PLAN at the moment, just holding to hope.
• The Resistance ARE sitting ducks. As their fuel begins to run out. They realize a CRAPPY rebellion base is on a nearby planet. They head for that planet. Poe and Holdo are at odds, Poe cannot handle not having a plan. Holdo sends out a distress beacon for anyone to come to their aid. No answer.
• Finn and Rose meet the same way. Finn explains he can't sit by and do nothing, and had to get Reys beacon away from the doomed fleet. Rose disagrees, they must have hope. Finn and Rose discover they can be tracked by First Order. Rose and Finn reiterate that the fleet is doomed if they don't get help. They are going to sneak off the ship and recruit new resistance warriors from a planet's civilization that Rose recalled was very unruly and disliked a first order presence. The way they got them off their planet, was by supplying them with a yearly tribute of top end ships and weapons. It was a rich, weapons and manufacturing planet.
• Maz Kanata has joined the resistance already after her business was destroyed. Is not in a hologram but present on the ship. They both sneak in to speak with Maz Kanata. Poe is already there. You can tell Poe and Maz are of like minds and have now known eachother for a bit. The four of them hear Finn and Rose's plan to recruit from the Weapons Supply civilization in a not too far off planet. Once they get there, the civiliation is reluctant to aid the resistance, so in the know, they already know the resistance is in trouble, also having received the distress beacon from Holdo. Why should they help a doomed resistance? Poe gives a speech Leia gives earlier in the movie. Maz Kanata flirts with an iffy looking head official on the planet named DJ who allows Finn and Rose and Poe to meet with his slaves. Rose and Finn mesh more with the slaves they now realize are present all over the planet. The 4 of them and BB8 convince the slaves to revolt against the rich leadership that was pacifying the First Order and become free, fight for something, for hope, for a future.
• Another Distress Beacon, Leia this time, she is awake. She gives a more convincing and eloquent cry for help than Holdo, Poe says he needs to go. Maz, Finn and Rose help the slaves revolt against the masters on the planet and secure ships and some allies, albeit humorously the slaves aren't tremendous pilots or warriors so Maz and Finn and Rose help to teach them in a crash course.
• Poe arrives back to the fleet. One ship is left. The first order is still bombarding them. Poe explains Holdo has done nothing and about his plan. Leia laments, that there is no time for Finn, Rose and Maz's slave friends to arrive with ships to help. They are almost to the old, crappy rebellion base on Crait. Where they have now decided to try and sneak transports to, as quick as possible after an extremely brief lightspeed jump beside the planet. The First Order tracks them almost immediately but arrives out of the jump from lightspeed still at a far range for weapons barrage. Leia and Holdo and Poe are on the cruiser still and the transports begin to be picked off. Panic on all the radios, The resistance is being destroyed ship by ship. About 40 initial transports is now more like 25. Leia and Holdo and Poe are about to board the final transport and they look defeated, hopeless, unsure what to do. Leia steps back, determined. Poe demands she get on the transport. Leia tells Poe to take an order, not just from his general but from his friend. Poe is teary eyed. Holdo pulls at Poe to get on the transport. BB8 beeps. "Happy beeps right?" Leia says to Poe and BB8.
• Leia is now on the bridge. The First Order is picking off the ships with their cannons. All will be lost. Everyone will die. Leia turns the cruiser slightly, it was already partially facing the First Order fleet. Kylo mid force fight with Rey over lightsaber sensing his mother. He abandons the bridge and begins to sprint towards the bridge. Fire on that Cruiser!!!!!!! "That cruiser is empty, their weapons are of no consequence, I don't want one transport making it to Crait! We will wipe out the entire resistance right now!" Hux says. Kylo looks furious, then worried. Leia looks towards the resistance transports "May the force be with you... Rebels." Leia catapults lightspeed right through the First Order fleet. Sacrificing herself. Poe and Holdo and others look on at the hero. Rey is off the ship in a shuttle already, and feels the loss as she rejoins with Chewie. Luke feels the loss. Luke is noticeably distraught and now... determined? About 15 resistance shuttles make for Crait.
• The First Order fleet, much destroyed, licks their wounds. Prepares for an assault on Crait with whatever they can salvage. Much more than what the resistance will have on Crait.
• Everything else happens the same for a while.
• Poe gives a speech for Leia and for the resistance not to flicker out. More fighters on ski's, maybe like 30 head out to meet the first order forces. The first order has probably like 14 ATSTs and a large gun along with Kylos ship. The resistance fighters on skis begin getting picked off. Tons of ties arrive. The Falcon arrives and helps pick off many TIE Fighters. They begin to retreat as the big gun starts loading up. The big gun destroys the resistance bases door. The ships all retreated back to the broken base. Draw a line in the sand so to speak. The rust buckets don't stand a chance and Chewie is swarmed by TIEs. Chewie enters a Crait Canyon, cause Kylo sends the Ties. He hates that ship, Poe says. Just as they resistance fighter begin getting destroyed, some new looking bomb explosions begin blowing ATSTs that were walking towards the vulnerable base. Finn Rose Maz and some slaves in nice tech bombers do some damage, ultimately they no match for some high tech TIEs flying around and a handful of the bombers/slaves/finn/rose/maz retreat to the base. The resistance, entirely, is cornered, trapped, doomed. A special tie fighter shoots down rose last second as she takes fire that was intended for finn. Finn is distressed, rose will live, but looks hurt in wreckage. The Falcon shoots down one of the special TIE fighters and the other one special TIE with Phasma inside chases Chewie/Rey/Porgs away from the battle.
• All hope is lost.
• Luke walks out from between the trapped band of resistance fighters. Winks at 3P0. Puts a hand on R2D2.
• Everything proceeds as the film depicted from here.
• The resistance fighters escape in a tunnel. Luke stalls.
• Luke does NOT die!
• Luke is in pain/anguish/trouble, but is not dead.
• Poe assumes resistance command.
• Holdo is quirky side person like Ackbar.
• Rey reunites with Finn. Finn tucks in Rose.
• Luke gathers himself stares out at 2 suns, looking almost older, but peaceful.
  
• Cut to Rey seemingly jiving with Luke in the force.
• The final shot of the movie, Some Slaves, Some Resistance Persons, Poe/Finn/Rey/Chewy/C3PO/BB8/R2 talking on Falcon.
• "Leia was our greatest hope, in our darkest moment. Now that she is gone, that hope still remains." -Poe
