Recommendations for YouTube videos

Time to bring some weirdness to this list once again! I'll start light before dragging y'all down into the depths of "how in God's mighty name did I get here?" territory.

We've got some fun skits and some Hamilton spoofs (Spamilton) and animation (Szin). These are great for those who liked Hamilton but only really watched it after it came to Disney+ and want more fun stuff about it. I...ended up linking most of the songs...but the animations are so fun here! Anyways, enjoy:

The Spamilton videos started out super weird, but the longer they went on, the more hilarious they became due to the absurdist humor of it all.

And here's Lin-Manuel talking about more historical accounts of Hamilton's affair during Drunk History. And some other stuff with Founding Fathers.

Next we have some interviews and sort of games with Korean young(late 20s early 30s) adults. Awesome World does the same thing, so look them up too.

And now, finally, to the weird stuff.
I...have NO IDEA how I ended up finding out about Foo the Flowerhorn. It just popped up on my feed one day. I don't watch the videos often, but if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep, these videos are the perfect mix of weird enough to keep me interested yet calm enough to relax me that I find my way back to sleep soon after...usually.

There's a weird channel called The Hoof GP. The creator of the show fixes the hoofs of cattle for a living, and he goes around and shows the process and educates people on what he's doing. It's pretty interesting albeit weird and somewhat clickbaity. I won't link the videos, but I suggest checking them out.

And to end on a "somewhat weird but not as weird as before" note, we have some cooking videos! First up is Vena HX. Vena's channel is dead for all intents and purposes, but her old cooking videos are still there. She was one of the first YouTubers I discovered willing to make recipes from the manga/anime Food Wars (aka Shokugeki no Soma), and I've always wanted to try hers. I've made recipes from the show since, but they weren't hers.

And lastly, we have EmmyMadeInJapan - now shortened to just EmmyMade. This is her geoduck video from last year. It's hilariously phallic and quite amusing. Emmy's videos as a whole are really interesting - she's calm and analytical, even with foods she clearly hates, and she almost always goes through some trivia about the food she's eating/cooking.

YouTube feeds are weird things. The Algorithm sometimes picks things you wouldn't expect, and then next thing you know, you're ten hours deep down in that rabbit hole. Fortunately that hasn't happened in a while.

What DID happen a few weeks ago was a weird music recommendation that I have to share.

What freaked me out even more about this song is that I knew some students who look exactly like some of the girls in this band. Fortunately, that's not them, but it still weirds me out whenever this pops back up.

I almost forgot the latest Daniel Green skits! I'm not sure the policy on gun humor (in the context magic vs modern weapons) is here, so I'm not going to include it, but definitely check it out.

Lastly, fans of My Hero Academia should check out Nicque Marina on TikTok. Her Aizawa skits are incredibly hilarious, but also incredibly explicit. You have been warned.

 

Just wanted to say thanks for the Charles Cornell channel.
I took to subscribing to that pretty quickly. He's very enjoyable to just watch, and now that I've seen a bunch, I'm probably going to turn my kids on to him for their piano study.

On a similar train of thought - musicians!

This video is single handedly the greatest video I have ever discovered on YT. Please watch it. It is mind boggling. I could not sleep because my mind was racing with wonder and curiosity. It is worth the whopping 30 minutes.
