I agree. I doubt we'll get much more detail regarding Depa's past, but it's nice to think of the Legends as just that.

So I check http://www.swbooks.co.uk/ frequently for release dates on upcoming novels and comics in the SWU... They have Kanan listed as being a limited series with 5 issues. Does anyone have any confirmation yes or no on this? All other sources I've seen in the past have listed it as ongoing.

Last week I was looking in to this as well. I found one site that said it was a limited series (no mention of how many issues) and a half dozen or so that said it was ongoing.

I wanted to give reviewing comic books a go so as Kanan is my favourite issue so far I decided to start there. Here it is for those that haven’t already moved on to Darth Vader #4 :)

    Vader is ongoing.
from Marvel's site: "The original Dark Lord of the Sith stars in his first ongoing series!..."

You had me worried there for a moment.

Still debating on whether to follow this series. I love Kanan in Rebels, but the price point of all these Star Wars comics is hurting my wallet. Someone convince me to buy it!

If you enjoyed TCW, I feel that this is a great link between that and Rebels (better than A New Dawn was). It's hard to say an awful lot on it considering the first issue was mostly action and build up, but it looks like this series could really go somewhere. Thus far the dialogue is interesting, the action captivating and the plot involving. I would personally highly recommend it, but I'd probably say that for all of the series so far!

You're a hero! Been looking for something like this. Thanks so much!

The first issue of Kanan is easily my favourite issue of the new Star Wars comics out this year. I wasn’t even a fan of Kanan in Rebels but the comic changed all that. If you already love Kanan and you only want to read (rather than watch) one Star Wars comic series because of price this is the one I would recommend.

    Just saw this.
    http://www.denofgeek.us/books-comics/star-wars/245571/star-wars-comics-marvel-panel-what-we-learned

"Finally, Greg Weisman, exec producer on Star Wars: Rebels, will stay on Kanan: The Last Padawan for a second arc."

Typically, a story arc is 6 issues, so it looks like we'll be getting at least twelve issues. I'm guessing at least 10-12.

The story arc will comprise five issues, with Weisman stepping down as writer for the comic series as a new arc begins.

Just and update for everyone here who has read or has started the Kanan series. Issue #6 will be a Rebels-era comic about the Ghost crew on Kaller, but Issue #7 will be about his first mission in the Clone Wars. For the Shatterpoint theorists, like myself, who think it is coming back (!), here's the cover for even more support.

This is the cover for issue 8 released on November 18th.

Young Caleb Dume has not yet been to war...

...But now, the Jedi Temple is under attack!

Can a Padawan really make a difference?
