    Well, where do I start....

We have now watched the Jedi pass into, and through three different era's and we understand them, we know them, have seen them rise and fall....and have seen their failings.

Rey didn't necessarily want to become one of the Jedi, but instead just wanted to understand "that thing" that had awakened inside of her, but now she knows "that thing" is what makes a Jedi Knight...those legendary people that she's only heard of in stories and lore, and then she met one of those legendary Knights named Luke Skywalker.

We are now entering the time of the rise of the new Jedi, and probably the Order as well. I will admit that prior to seeing TLJ, I KNEW (via someone that went to the premier in LA) that Luke was going to die, and I was somewhat filled with dread as I wondered who would train Rey to become a Jedi...or not.

As this is Star Wars, I had a serious debate with myself about whether or not LFL would let the Jedi die, as Luke wanted, or miraculously save them, but when Yoda destroyed the Force tree in a bid to keep him out, I was certain at that moment that the Jedi teachings were lost, especially as Yoda tells Luke; "That library contained nothing that the girl Rey does not already possess,"...but we now know that they were saved.

As Rey probably knew, by Luke's attitude, that he would never train her but instead let the Jedi die with him, and it would only be left to her to at least save some remnant of them and she took the books, but I was unaware of this fully until I saw them neatly stashed in the drawer on the Falcon, and I was relieved.

Now as we enter into the final act of this trilogy, we're going to see Luke become Rey's mentor, like Yoda and Ben were to him, and we will see Rey question Luke about the things that she will read IN those books, and I think we're very likely to see (and maybe hear his FG say) "From a certain point of view" as he guides her through the teachings of the Jedi manuscripts.

The punchlist of questions that I have, now knowing that Rey WILL read those books and learn the old Jedi ways are:

Will we ever hear Rey refer to Luke as her "Master" in this trilogy or the next?

Will the time-lapse between VIII and IX be enough that we will see Rey fully trained and have the title bestowed upon her (or at least referred to) as a "Jedi Knight" by the end of IX?

Will we ever hear her say anything like "I am a Jedi Knight, like those before me."?

Will we see Rey take a "Padawan" or at least have the notion alluded to by the end of this trilogy by taking a FS person under her wing?

    Thoughts??

I think there will be a bigger time jump between TLJ and IX, so she should already have a padawan in IX.

Do you really think so?? Don't you think that THAT big of a jump would leave out any sight of her BEING trained? I'd personally like to see her struggle through some of it like Luke had to, and see his FG now tell her "NO!" like Yoda did to Luke during his training.

A 1-2 years time jump would be perfect.

I believe she will face the same conflict as Luke did if she senses darkness inside her padawan or students, to mirror Luke's conflict and that will be very interesting to observe how she helps her students to fight that darkness.

I think the time jump is necessary to give her time to train and read the Jedi stuff she took.

Her taking a padawan is, IMO, too big of a leap. I don't expect to see one.
