I have it all figured out .... I have answer for Rey's parentage. She is both Skywalker and Kenobi. How could this occur? I'll tell you. I have the whole story figured out. This of course is simply speculation

Step one: Kenobi had a daughter
When did this happen you ask. The answer is that it never did.. Not in any story we've been told yet. In the cartoon show the clone wars Kenobi has a back story with a female character named Satine... It is plausible to see how they may have had a child that they could keep because of Kenobi a dedication to the Jedi order and her responsibility as a senator in Mandelor.

Step two: Kenobi's daughter meets Luke. Well this could happen a couple of ways. First she could be a bounty hunter hired to find Luke and bring him to the remaining power of the empire during the end of the galactic civil war. I like this idea because then she could be a version of Mara jade from the expanded universe who wanted to kill like and ends up falling in love with him. The other option is that she could be a rebel soldier that Luke meets during his time with the rebels before he starts the Jedi order business.... Either way it works out to have them meet fall in love and have a child.

Step 3: Luke and "Mara" have Rey and leave her on Jakku. Of course at some point Rey is born and then years later is left alone on Jakku. You might wonder how a mother and father might leave thier daughter on Jakku. I don't think it was entirely on purpose.... Perhaps Mara knew Unkar Plott (the guy who watches over Rey and the one who buys her salvage for portions) from her days as a bounty hunter or younger person. Let's say her relationship wasn't the best but was good enough for her to leave her child with him for a short time while she takes care of some business.

Old version: So the story would be Kylo Ren betrays Luke and goes after him at his temple... Luke sends Mara and Rey away for there safety and precedes to track down kylo. Kylo however find Mara whom has hidden Rey away. Mara doesn't tell kylo where she's hidden and kylo ends up killing Mara just in time for Luke to see... A fight ensues and Luke almost succumbs to the dark side nearly killing kylo. Kylo claiming to have killed both Mara and Rey. Luke catches himself. So lost from his recent loss of wife and daughter and his near failure in almost losing himself to the darkside, Luke retreats into hiding leaving a piece of his whereabouts with a friend Lor San tekka (maybe). All the while Rey waits for her mothers return

New Version: Given what we know from bloodline I am going to give an alternate story for Rey's Abandonment. First the timeline....
    - In bloodline we know that Ben is still training with Luke 6 years prior to TFA at age 23
    - We Know TFA is 30 years after RotJ . Therefore Bloodline is roughly 24 years after RotJ
    - We Know Rey is about 19 years old. this puts her birth about 11 years after RotJ. and 13 years before Bloodline
    - If Ben was born 1 year after RotJ that makes him 10 when Rey is born.
    - Rey Is abandoned at Age 5. Ben is roughly then 15

Luke is in the middle of training Ben and his 5 year Old daughter is at "Home" with mother Mara.
It's possible that Snoke or Benicio Del Toro's character, Know Luke's threat. it's possible they end up killing Mara while trying to take out young Rey Ben and Luke. Luke cannot raise his daughter while trying to take out Snoke or whomever is trying to destroy Luke. Luke takes Rey to the outer rim to be taken care of by an old friend. Things happen over time that prevent Luke from returning till eventually he is too ashamed to return. Which all fuels Ben's reasoning for joining Snoke. Because maybe Ben grew fond of his cousin as he would have seen her a lot traveling around with Luke and returning to his Home once in a while.

    or

Luke could have met Mara Jade (or random smuggler chick) one night been lonely and had relations with her. Mara is maybe one of those closed off types that forces Luke out of her life and then learns she is pregnant. After 5 years of a bad life with this little girl Mara Jade abandons her on Jakku after finding a new life doing something else. THis theory would mean none of our characters know she is a skywalker.

There you have it. what to you guys think?... Is it at least an intriguing story?

Obi-Wan Kenobi couldn't have had a kid with Satine partly because she dies although her son could be kenobi's soon but I thought he also died(?) and if he did hav a kid then he/she would have been a bastard child and would have been hidden and NOT a kenobi. IF SO, what if they have Rey ON Jakku and the ship leaving is them keeping her there to protect her while they go into hiding/become space cops...

My thought was that Kenobi had a slip up with satine prior to the clone wars maybe about a year or so, and never knew that he had a daughter with satine because of her giving her for adoption to protect Kenobi from the jedi order. but I see your meaning.

Also just because she wouldn't have the kenobi name wouldn't mean she wasn't a kenobi. look at Ben solo. He is a solo but has skywalker blood in him making him a skywalker.

I would welcome if Rey turns out being a descendant of Obi-Wan. Mainly for two reasons:
    1. I love Obi-Wan. If Rey is a Kenobi, Obi-Wan has to come back in Ep 8 or 9.
    2. The duel between Rey and Kylo would mirror the duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin. => Kenobi vs Skywalker

So let Rey be a KenobiSkywalker.

Yes...Rey is a Kenobi and will be a Skywalker later

And we don't know Ben's last name....I say he is Ben Skywalker-Solo....I can see Leia honoring her fathers sacrifice by taking his name....and to reconnect with her brother....

So by the time ST finishes she'll be Rey Kenobi Skywalker-Solo?
    *chuckles*

As much as I doubted it in the beginning I'm starting to see how Reylo could happen. But I still think she is Luke's Daughter.

Leia actually kicked Han out of the house cause he said "remember that time you made out with your brother?" in front of Ben. Instant creepy Uncle fear. ;)

I'm still fresh to the Cantina, wish I could rate your post! I like it a lot. It's actually very close to one of my (several, rambling, conspiring..) theories. I do think it could work, and would open up the doors for an epicly awesome third anthology film starring Obi-Wan. That would be a great way to tie things together. As I understand it:
1st SW anthology film: Rogue One: 2016
    Ep. VIII: 2017
2nd SW anthology film: Han Solo: 2018
    Ep. IX: 2019
    3rd SW anthology film: (Obi-Wan??): 2020

That girl is neither a Kenobi or a Skywalker...

    she is Rey Sunrider,

the first Jedi and the eternally reincarnated Chosen One.

Im not sure if I would want just one Kenobi film or a trilogy but I definitely want to see more Ewan as my personal favorite Jedi Master. Thanks for your thought btw.

Makes much more sense if Obi wan slept with Satine, left to continue his Jedi training, had a son Korkie, Korkie is hidden from Obi wan by Satine because Obi Wan wants to be a Jedi more than anything, having a kid would destroy that..Korkie is not aware that he is a Kenobi..Obi Wan is not aware he had a son/Granddaughter..it explains the Rey/Anastasia similarity that George Lucas' son talks about..if she's a Mandalorian and related to Korke, it means she's royalty, living life as a dirty scavenger.

Obi Wans' Ghost knows who she is though I think. Thats why he tells her to take her first steps (like a baby) after showing her a vision?

The clone wars is canon..George Lucas was retconing Obi Wan to set up Kira?

I can see that being a little more plausible then my theory. I think it could work either way. Only my way allows Rey to be both Kenobi and Skywalker relation.

I've always supported Rey Kenobi-Skywalker (or "Rey Skynobi"), but if they were going to reintroduce Mara Jade as Rey's mother / Luke's wife AND Obi-Wan's daughter, that'd be the icing on the cake for me :)

In order for Rey to be more powerful than Kylo, she must have a powerful lineage. As Mr. Abrams has interestingly connected characters (i.e. Lost), I also believe she is both a Skywalker and a Kenobi. After Obi-Wan delivers Luke to the Lars Family, he realizes the Jedi Council is no more. To live in the moment, he becomes involved with Bo-Katan, who both had history with Satiene. They have a daughter, Mara Jade. When now Ben gets involved to settle a dispute, criminals fake the death of their daughter. She is sold to slavers, and ends up in the employment of Palpatine similar to the Zahn Trilogy). Broken hearted, Bo-Katan returns to Mandalore and Ben settles on being a hermit watching over Luke. Mara Jade eventually meets Luke, and they develop a romance after the events of Return of the Jedi. As Luke spends too much time focusing on his Jedi school, and Mara Jade leaves him to pursue the family she always wanted. Unknown to the both of them, she is pregnant with Rey. Mara Jade mets a junk trader on Jaktu, who marries her and helps to raise the infant Rey. Although Mara Jade never tells Luke about Rey, she tells her husband the junk trader who the father is after contracting a deadly illness. After Mara Jade dies, the junk trader gets back together with an old flame and also attempts to locate Luke. Unfortunately, Kylo has now destroyed the Jedi school and Luke is headed to exile. Frightened if Kylo and the New Order should find Rey with his new family, the step and foster parent junk traders abandon Rey on Jaktu. The events of the Force Awakens then occurs. Thus the only parents that Rey would even remember would be the junk traders.

That's the exact opposite of the message of The Last Jedi, though.

The Force does not belong to a bloodline. Kylo has the Skywalker lineage, and that's great, but it needn't make him more powerful than anyone else.

That's the point of the character of Rey: she's a nobody who becomes somebody. Kylo Ben is the legacy Skywalker character of the this trilogy.

No way. According George Lucas, Midichlorians determine the level of force in an individual. Only certain chosen individuals can use the Force well enough to be Jedi/Sith. BTW, the Last Jedi is worst Star Wars movie ever! Hopefully, Mr. Abrams will clean up that garbage in episode IX.
