    As The Resistance narrowly escapes the end of The Last Jedi in the Falcon, and all of their other ships appear to have been destroyed, where and how do you think the Resistance will acquire their ships in Episode IX? And what will they be?

    Almost every Star Wars movie has had some variation of the X-Wing (excluding Episodes I and II).
    The T-85 is known as the newest variation, operated by The New Republic, even though older T-70s were used in Episodes VII and VIII by the Resistance. Is it possible that The Resistance could stumble across some New Republic T-85s that survived destruction from The First Order? Or maybe they could find some dusty T-65Bs from the original trilogy?

    It would also be cool to see The Resistance acquire some of The First Order's Tie Fighters, or perhaps something left over from the Empire. It would also be interesting if some of The First Order's squadrons defected and joined The Resistance. Poe and Finn both have (brief) experience flying these. I could see the two of them instructing new pilots and teaching them how to operate them.

    I have high hopes that they'll do something interesting, seeing as they have a new opportunity to start over with vehicles.

    I really think they are going to get creative and reinvent a totally new fighter fleet for the Resistance. The Canto Bight bit of TLJ pushed so much of the rich in the galaxy controlling both sides of the war, and manufactures both the TIE fighter and the X-Wings.

    They will need to find clean allies and manufacturers who are willing to fight for the cause. New designs for new ships, made by new allies. They are starting from the scratch, one right move at a time.

    Let's end this with a bang, shall we? :)

    I would say that the newest fighters they will have will be the T-70 X-Wing and RZ-2 A-Wing which we have seen already. As this is the beginning of the new Rebellion it's more than likely they will take any ships they can get their hands on so I wouldn't be surprised if we see some old favourites such as the T-65 X-Wing, RZ-1 A-wing, B-Wing and hopefully the trusty old Y-Wing. That's if the any of these fighter have survived since ROTJ.

    I always loved the early Colin Cantwell X-Wing design. I wouldn't mind it (or something similar) becoming the look of the T-85.

    Don’t forget that Snap and bunch of his squadron are ‘off on a mission for Leia’ while TLJ is happening, so there’s at least a few T-70s kicking about which is good for the Resistance... and toy manufacturers/marketing types

    Couple that with the Resistance likely combining what's left of its forces with their allies in the Outer Rim (some of whom are likely Republic holdouts), I'd say there's a good chance we might get to see a mix of T-70 & T-85 X-Wings.

    Plus, you know, the more ships they have, the more toys they get to make. :rolleyes:

    Couldn't agree with this more. That's one thing I was disappointed with regarding TLJ's ship design (and TFA as well) - not enough cool new ships! (one of my favorite features of Star Wars)

    I'm sure X-Wings (or some variant) will be there, and I'd hope we get some B-Wings and A-Wings again too.

    Y-Wings seem pretty outdated at this point, but more Resistance Bombers would be welcome.
