    Here is a thread for the upcoming comic series, Star Wars Adventures. It will focus on various characters from all the Star Wars films and is for all ages to enjoy. It seems to primarily focus on Finn, Rey, Kylo, Han, Chewie, Leia, Luke, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Darth Vader, and Darth Maul, but I'm sure there will be more. (Fingers crossed for more Anakin and Ahsoka!)

    Basically, we can give thoughts, and speculation on the series. I'll start this thread with mine:
    Thoughts: Very cool idea. It seems like it'll please everyone from a child up to an adult. Although the image below makes me concerned it'll focus more on the former. Still, a very cool idea, as it'll give us more stories with some of the main characters, fan-favorite characters (ahem, more Anakin/Ahsoka, ahem.), and obscurer characters. Unfortunetly, some back-up stories won't be canonical, so I'm guessing there will be some more comical or "kiddish" stories.

    Speculation: Based on the information we have, I have a feeling that this will be the comic, canonical version of the "Tales From..." anthology books from Legends. I have a feeling we'll get more background stories from the Cantina, Maz's Castle, obscure Jedi, and some of the background Rebel partisians. More canon stories with Luke is good with me, as he's one of the featured characters on the covers. Something that intrigues me is how in the image below, Obi-Wan seems to resemble his initial armor design from the 2D Clone Wars cartoon series that was the predessor to TCW. This intrigues me and so I'm hoping for some more stories in the early battles of the Clone Wars, prior to TCW film and TV series. I also hope to get more stories about Finn in his stormtrooper years. It's also interesting how in another image below, Yoda appears as a Force Ghost, so hopefully some post-ROTJ, pre-TFA stories involving Luke!

    When will this series hit the shelves? I'm looking forward to tales of Finn during his stormtrooper years, or Rey's time on Jakku. Ob1 on Tatooine...

    It seems like a good idea but I hope they are REAL careful if they plan to make this canon. While I loved the old EU, it really bugged me that EVERY SINGLE THING that came out with the SW logo was included in canon no matter how trashy or absurd it was. They tried to make things like the Ewok cartoon canon even if this had tons of things that contradicted the story in the OT and we had to swallow things like Masters of Teras Kasi and SW Demolition.

    According to Wookieepedia, some of the more absurd, comical stuff will be considered non-canon.

    Also, checking back on that Wookieepedia page, it says that Chris Ryall (the one in charge of IDW) wants to make a story on Rebels, once the show raps up, as well as a story on Bossk. In other news, it turns out the first two issues will be about Rey and her time on Jakku. The first issue will also include a "comical story of clone catatrophe", which I'm guessing will be similar to the story about the probe droid that came with Darth Maul #1, or the more recent one about the mouse droid that came with Darth Vader #1.

    Thanks for the info Jedi Chase. It sounds cool and it really is similar to the old SW Tales comics which also had canon stories mixed up with funny non-canon spoofs.

    Seeing Rey's time on Jakku would be cool but can we really say the same about Finn? Not because I don't like him or anything but because TFA was clear in that Finn had never seen any action prior to the mission on Jakku and the rest of his life was in sanitation duty. He had no real life combat experience which means that everything Finn knew about battle would have to be that he learned it in simulation. I dare say that Finn never had anything interesting happen to him till he met Rey and she changed his life forever.
