I haven't been clued in too much to it, but is it supposed to address Jakku? Or were they planning to leave that mainly for Battlefront? What I heard is that it might feature the battle and possibly explain the origins of this "vicar" if he was involved with it like some of the rumors go, however that may just be outdated fantasy.

I am hoping it sheds a little bit of light onto some points of TFA. The tagline about the Emperor and Vader being "rumored" as dead is interesting to note, considering some rumors about TFA involve a Vader imposter in some form. But seeing as the whole "Journey" project is supposed to encompass about 20 different publications, I think any reveals will be relatively minimal in this book.

I suppose it might have to address certain things like Luke's path and the relationship between Leia and Han. Hopefully it'll go a bit dark and feature some real brutality by the Empire against hotspot systems.

As for the author himself, can't say I've read anything by him, so I don't really have any bias as of yet. I can say that, being the first post-RotJ book, I'm far more interested in this than any of the others that have been released thus far.

I would prefer the battle of jakku to be in this book rather than battlefront because DICE aren't great with story missions at all (as someone who has play Battlefield 3 and 4 and hardline)

There will be no story missions in the Dice Battlefront only basic battle missions and online PVP etc. I don't think Disney wanted them to do any stories till we get all books and comics to fill in the post ROTJ first.

I'd prefer it to. Well, perhaps both, but with the Battlefront one being simply exhilarating eye candy to go on top of a novelized from of the battle.

Has that been officially announced? I could understand that in some way, but there are also supposed to be a ton of books and comics coming out in between now and November/December, so it seems like there would at least be enough filled for them to touch on some story.

I preordered aftermath, I believe that the galaxy will be split between the Empire and the New Republic. Eventually the empire will fall and smaller factions like the first order will be created. I believe the first order will be lead by an ancient Sith Lord and is openly led by the sith. I would see the first order more like a terrorist organization then an actual government. Maybe overtime the Sith and Jedi will be attempting to build in large numbers.

John Crichton, cool last name any relation to Michael Crichton? I know Dice has said there will be no story/campaign modes just letting the players play out the battles themselves and with friends. I would not be surprised that BF2 would be all about VII and there we will have a story but until the movie and the 30+ years are out.

I'm going to start reading it the day it's released. The Battle of Jakku takes place one year after the Battle of Endor, and in a SW editorial of the book, it was stated that not only would we see the return of our hero's, but said that we'd also see some other familiar faces....what is this eluding to, I wonder??? I cannot wait to know every secret that book has to whisper to me!!
