    Battle of the Bands

Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes (the premiere Cantina band)
Figrin D'an on Gasan String Drum was the organizer who would routinely change the line up of the band. The Modal Nodes were members of the intergalactic Federation of Musicians. The all Bith band specialized in JizzWhaling and Jatz. Although the Modal Nodes enjoyed success on the Intergalactic circuit, they never rose to great prominence beyond the Outer Rim Territories worlds.

I'm a perfectionist and never was pleased with our run at Jabba's palace. It's hard to throw down tight jams when you're always worried about being fed to the Rancor. And I respect Figrin D'an's dedication to classic Jizzwhailing even though that type of improvisational music is dying as a pop art form. I will cast a humble vote towards the modal nodes for their legacy and their creativity.

Modal Nodes for sure. They got into people's heads in a way that Sy and the Rebo band never really did. Case in point, I just saw a gypsy jazz band here in Chicago tuck a bit of the classic cantina tune into one of their other songs not too long ago. I can't see Lapti Nek (or especially that new SE monstrosity) fitting into an old Django Reinhardt jam, y'know?
