Phasma scribe Delilah S. Dawson returns to Star Wars this July with a brand-new novel. Star Wars: Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade will be the first complete look into how a Jedi falls from grace into the ranks of the Inquisitorius. For the few not in the know at this point, the Inquisitors were a group of Jedi hunters put together by the Emperor post-Order 66. They were governed by Darth Vader. Rise of the Red Blade will follow Iskat Akaris, an Inquisitor introduced in Charles Soule's Darth Vader comic series in 2018.

Penguin Random House has released the full synopsis of the novel ahead of its July 18 release. Check it out below:

This is the third original Star Wars novel from Dawson. She has previously written Star Wars: Phasma, a tie-in book for The Last Jedi that unveiled the backstory of Captain Phasma and explored the politics of the First Order. It was praised for being 'Mad Max in Star Wars.' Dawson then wrote its spiritual sequel, Star Wars: Black Spire, which was a novel about how the Resistance found themselves on Batuu.

Star Wars: Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade by Delilah S. Dawson will be released on July 18. The novel is being published by Random House Worlds and is available for pre-order now.
