    Great Thread!

I'll add this here for reference.

    http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions...-may-fit-within-disneys-hollywood-studios.htm

Some of the original speculation on the location of Star Wars land via WDW magic. Although insiders there are now leaning towards the entire blue area referenced being pushed back so that Echo Lake remains as it exists today and Star Wars land pushes back into the areas that are currently parking today.

Thanks for the update. I have to say I really like this reworking of Disney Studios, not just because I'm a SW fan, but also because those attractions and retail areas really needed to be replaced due to age, and some I personally never liked at all. Studios has always been my least-favorite Disney park. Though I'm glad they're not taking out the SciFi diner!

It'll really improve the aesthetics, too, which is where Disney usually outshines its competitors and allows it to hold its own against Universal, because Disney appeals to non-riders better, I think . The theming in that corner was lacking because every movie showcased was so different- Indiana Jones right next to Star Tours was a real clash! And the amount of real estate taken up by the Stunt Spectacular was just, well, spectacular. This is going to be outstanding for SW fans and general Disney fans alike.

I'm right there with you. DHS has always been my #4 since Animal Kingdom opened. But Sci-Fi (despite its mediocre food) is my favorite place to eat in WDW. Just loe the atmosphere and the movie loop. I'd be devastated if it gets ripped out for Star Wars. So I'm just crossing my fingers until construction begins and we finally can be sure its safe.

I like that plan better in general too. Leave Echo lake in place with its nice 50's Hollywood theming as a buffer from the park hub. If Star Wars land was just sitting right there pressed against Hollywood Blvd. it would be too much thematic whiplash and a waste of that good 50's theming.
