If you haven't played Star Wars: The Card Game, the Living Card Game (LCG) from Fantasy Flight Games, it is one of the best Star Wars games, digital or tabletop. What is an LCG? It's Fantasy Flight's Term for a collectible card game, except instead of buying randomized booster packs to obtain cards, you buy defined expansions so you know exactly what you will get.

The best part about Star Wars LCG is that is makes deck building ridiculously easy. Instead of building a deck of 50 cards where you have to have a set limit of this type and a set limit of this type, all Star Wars LCG cards come in Objective Sets of 6 cards. To build a deck, just choose at least 10 of these Objective sets and your done!

Anyone else here in the Cantina play the Star Wars LCG regularly? I'm hoping they make a deluxe expansion or at least a force pack cycle dedicated to The Force Awakens.

Oh man! Is that the one they starred selling around 94ish? If so I've got a pretty fat stack of those in a closet at my parents' house? Ten-year-old me never quite got the hang of how to play though. I just really liked the cards :)

The one I'm mentioning is actually fairly new and released a couple of years ago; a lot different in mechanics from the old Decipher CCG that you recall from the 90s. If you want to jump back in the Star Wars card game universe, now is the perfect time; a lot of local game stores around the country have regular players and organized tournaments.

I just got back from a friends house where I sat down and played this one for the first time... im no stranger to tabletop games and i know some of them can be a bit complicated. lucky there was a tutorial to be found on youtube that was somewhat useful. It was a fun casual game to pass the time but i don't think ill be investing in my own set anytime soon.
ill rate the game a 5/10.

The game is definitely complicated. I think it took my wife and I three or four games to truly get a hang of it. Even now, after months of playing, I finally realized we were handling unapposed damage in engagements wrong. Not too much of a big deal, but it certainly explains why the light side would always win in our games.
