    Cool! Not a major type of awards but this still makes me happy. Nice to see costumes getting some recognition, because I think it is criminal how Star Wars keeps getting snubbed for costumes at the Oscars.

    The costumes were fantastic, but Phantom Thread was basically a shoe in and cinematography was fantastic in Blade Runner. It was a tough year in those categories.

    The Academy looooooooves to give Oscars for the best costumes to period dramas or fantasy films that look like period dramas but

    I agree with this opinion quite a bit. I would change the nominations perhaps a bit, but the winnners deserved the award.

    I’m super stoked for Rian, Mark and Daisy. It was a good night to be involved with The Last Jedi, I guess! I really loved the Oscars this year and I appreciate that there’s an award show with that level of prestige, but I also think it’s a shame that blockbuster films rarely get any recognition from the Academy—and if they do, it’s frequently just nominations. I’m glad The Last Jedi got some awards tonight, though. It really deserved it. Regardless of what anyone says, I think it’s one of the best Star Wars films to date.

    Can we take a moment to acknowledge that Adam Driver was totally snubbed of a Best Actor nomination, though? He was more prominent in The Last Jedi than John Boyega was, in my opinion. If Adam were nominated, I think he might have given Hugh Jackman a run for his money in that category.

    Yup! Boyega was nominated over him? That's just illogical. :p I feel like Driver doesn't get enough recognition for his performance.
    Perhaps I misphrased, because I actually had just nominations in mind. To me TFA, RO and TLJ all deserved to be at least nominated for costumes. But in my book a win wouldn't be a stretch.

    I agree, that’s absolutely ludicrous. One of my biggest issues with the fans who complain about the Sequel Trilogy, whether they have legitimate gripes or not, is that many of them fail to give credit where credit is due. I’m a big Adam Driver fan and have seen him in several films outside of Star Wars, and he’s truly one of the best actors of our generation. He doesn’t get anywhere near enough credit, but he’s hands down one of the best parts of the Sequel Trilogy.

    Yup, it's equally valid argument for the quality of the film as '48% user rating' on Rotten Tomatoes. Only this time, it was the 'lovers' that voted. ;)

    For one, I am happy for the film, Daisy and Rian and the appreciation the voters showed them.
