Thank You, George Lucas!

George is and always will be an inspiration to me, regardless of Jar Jar and Attack Of The CGI.

 

PT will have a better rep in a few decades. And then George once again will be a hero!

George Lucas is a legend of the movie & sci-fiction era. Never forgotten

I second that. The article is great, and +1 to you, Galen.

I'm sure I'm not alone here, but my GF and I do video work. Short films, music videos, and all that. We've worked with others on films, and are trying to start a production company, indie style.

To me, I owe a lot of this to George Lucas. He has touched and helped revolutionize everything from sound to practical effects to digital effects and using digital cameras to film. Yes, a lot of us were saddened by some of his works--our expectations were probably too high, or he felt too comfortable (50/50 to both?) , but he will always be a film-hero to me.

I hope that being free of Star wars will free and invigorate him. I think a lot of people overlook this, but him owning and running Star Wars probably put him in charge of 4k people, though toys, books, comics, cartoons, video games, licensing contracts and other projects. That's 200 million a year, and 50k salary per person. You gotta think, he helped employ everyone from people who make key-chain fobs and t-shirts to studio execs.

That's a lot of responsibility, and a lot of "yes's," and "no's" to deal with daily.

 

Thank you Mr. Lucas for your charity work, by the way you did some nice movies too.

 

A great partnership you to have, GL is a inspiration to all those who follow his line filming etc.

Indeed charity work & movies are his speciality.

reminds me of when i was a kid in 4th grade. for English class we had to write our hero a letter. i choose GL of course. they sent me a letter like this and a picture too. wish i still had it.

 

I thank George Lucas for Star Wars.The good(Which is most of it) the bad( which is NOT the prequels.There have been so many worse films then Attack of the Clones.I 'm talking about the first special editions)and the ugly(Jabba is not a sexy dude)

If it wasn't for him,My childhood wouldn't have been as magical as it was. Star Wars was the first movie I remember seeing.
Attack of the Clones was the first Star Wars I took my oldest son to.Revenge of the Sith was the first Star wars movie I took my wife to.The Force Awakens is the first Star Wars movie I'll take my youngest to.
I thank him for creating something that has been in my family for 38 + years. I wish I could tell him personally.

 

A lot of fan hate would disappear if he wouldn't block the release of the original versions of the OT!
