The Acolyte Star Amandla Stenberg Geeks Out About Star Wars at San Diego Comic-Con

During San Diego Comic-Con, Lucasfilm finally announced that Amandla Stenberg would be joining the cast of the upcoming series The Acolyte, months after reports of their involvement first appeared. Speaking to DenOfGeek in San Diego, Stenberg shared their enthusiasm about joining the project, saying:

The Acolyte is rumored to be in pre-production, aiming at starting to roll cameras in November. For now, we don't know anyone else attached to the series, but that could change in the next few months. On September 10, Lucasfilm will have a presentation at Disney's D23 Expo, where they could discuss the series, since they didn't bring it up during Star Wars Celebration in May.



Leslye Headland is the showrunner, and even though we know she assembled a writers' room last year, we don't know anyone else that has worked on the show. If they are indeed starting to film in November, a 2024 release on Disney Plus seems very likely.
