    Hello,

Just bought 3 books that I am really loving:

The Art of The Rise of Skywalker, The Art of Solo and The Art of Rogue One.

Creating this thread to put some images that I find interesting of the book.

First of all is this one, inspired in a logo for the first Star Wars made by Ralph Mcquarrie:

It looks beautiful and I never saw before.

This thread is right up my alley, since I try to collect all the art of books. When I was a teenager I discovered the art of Star Wars books in my favorite New York City comic book shop, Forbidden Planet NYC on Broadway. Ironically, I was taking an architecture class at the legendary Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art on Saturday from 9-5pm located just a few blocks away from FPNYC. I wanted to take a painting class, but my dad emphasized to learn something where I can get a job right after college, so I took up architecture at Cooper Union. A good friend is currently a manager at FPNYC, so visiting the shop now is such a treat. He gifted me a discount code to use when he isn't around great guy indeed.

I only had 20 bucks in my pocket, so I couldn't purchase the art of Star Wars book which was $19.99 soft-cover at the time, I needed money to eat lunch and return home, so I stood in the shop half the day and pored over the book. The only one I don't have is the one about the new Disney Star Wars theme park, the art of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, I might come around and get that on Amazon soon, the price has dropped considerably. My most recent purchases are the art of the High Republic and Visions.

There are so many Star Wars books to collect like the visual dictionary, or the incredible cross sections guide, but I really focus on the art of books for the artist input in creating character concepts and digital art paintings. I'm looking forward to more in this thread!

I am a big fan of the concept art made for The Phantom Menace, I love the drawings of Chiang and Mccaig. I found this idea for Chewbacca so cool, sad that they didnt go with that:

This drawing for Kura, after named Qi’ra, is also beautiful:

And this idea for a young Han Solo made for Revenge of the Sith? It is also in this book.

I'm guessing they steered away from the Chewie look as it was a bit too Krrsantan-like. I quite like the fact that our favourite Wookiee has always maintained a more simple appearance, with just his satchel and bandolier.

Another interesting one... if you'd not captioned that it was a Qi'ra design, I'd have assumed it was a PT-era Padme sketch
