    Hello guys,

I'm with a problem here. I will travel to US in two weeks and I'm trying to order The Art of the Phantom Menace via Amazon.com but I don't know if there is any difference in the number of pages between the paperback and hardcover edition, or if there is another relevant difference. The site its not clear about this information, also, they just have used copies of both editions, the new ones are too expensive, but I don't think that will be a problem.

Does anybody here knows the difference of the editions? Also I'm thinking to buy The Art of TESB and maybe The Art of ANH. Do you recommend?

@Messi, I ordered the hardcover last year -- it has the podracer on the cover as you point out.

When I was doing my research, it seems that there are two paperback editions. One is like the hardcover (224 pages), while the other one -- commonly found on amazon -- was sold accompanying a widescreen collector's edition of the movie and only included a forty-eight-page excerpt of the full text. Unfortunately, the hardcover (or the paperpack for that matter) does not contain the script of the film like the hardcover editions of AOTC and ROTS (UK printing).

There is some information at the Wookiepedia page: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_Art_of_Star_Wars_Episode_I:_The_Phantom_Menace

    Thank you for replying.

The hardcover edition is very expensive. I will send a msg to the seller just to garantee if the paperback edition that he is selling is the one with the 224 pages or the shorter one.
TPM has the most beautiful concep arts of the prequels and I want the full thing...hehehe

The Art of TESB and The Art of ANH are available in two flavors: the original printings (hardcover/paperback) and also the Special Edition printings (paperback only, I think). The dust cover for the original hardcover of The Art of TESB is gorgeous! And, yes, they are expensive. I am also interested in these two.

I'm an illustration major, these books inspire me to create my art. I'm surprised that they are not re-releasing them.

I find it kind of annoying that the new "Art of" books are of a different size from the previous releases. They are more square than rectangular...and lack the movie script. Still, they are wonderful items to collect for the concept artwork and stories behind the evolution of the movies. I still need IV and V. :(

Yes I do too, I've got both TFA and RO art books and it looks awkward on my bookshelf together with the other books. I recently discovered that they have combined the incredible cross-section books and the visual dictionary into one ultimate guide. But they are beautiful books nonetheless.
