I like the idea of trilogies, and it has been used in stuff like LoTR, Hobbit, The Dark Knight, Back to the Future for decades now, and fairly well. Lucas did make many mistakes with the PT, I will agree to that, but they are great movies. Not amazing like the OT, and being born in the PT era even I know that, but they are still part of Star Wars and I appreciate them. As for only being Anakin in the show, I think as a lead, even more than he was in TCW, would make sense. But we've seen how other shows have had different story lines converge! Palpatine contacts all of them, and is the web, and he slowly twists everyone together to AoTC. They won't ever have contact with Anakin, no, but they will all be affected by each other thanks to Palpatine.

It's a shame they didn't release comics or books that were proper lead-ins to Attack of the Clones (like "Journey to the Force Awakens"). There was so much backstory to tell. While the EU covered a lot from the Anakin/Obi-Wan perspective later on, virtually nothing is known about what Padme was doing in these 10 years.

Very true. But I almost feel like there was a slight-reboot with AoTC because of the hate TPM got. Some very fair, some over the top, and some plain sadness about failed expectations. That could be why there was no lead in. We had Clone Wars mini shorts for ROTS though

Well, considering Lucas didn't finish the script until just days before shooting began, it's not that surprising. He barely created a coherent story before they began filming it. So any back story wasn't given much treatment or thought.

I disagree. They are alot of fans that like whole Star Wars saga. Both trilogies.
I would really like to see more stuff from that time period.

Learn more about Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, Mace Windu, Qui-Gon Jinn, Palpatine ect..

That's true as well. I still enjoy the movie for being the most complex out of the PT movies. Mind you, ROTS is a much better movie and one of my favorite Star Wars movies, but AoTC did bring us the clones, who were then amazingly fleshed out in TCW.

Speaking of Windu, in EU, he and Qui-Gonn would spar frequently. I would like to see that relationship expanded. I also would like to see Qui-Gonn complete his training to become a Force Ghost.

Yes I would really like to learn more about Qui-Gon Jinn.
As we can see in EP I, he was not really a ordinary jedi. It seems that he was in conflict with the jedi council very often.
As if he thought that Jedi lost their way.

Also I would like to learn more about Palpatine. How he become a sith.

Agreed. There's a lot about Qui-Gon (and his relationship with Dooku) that really needs to be addressed.

Well, we're getting the Obi-Wan and Anakin comic miniseries! It's a start, for sure.

On starwars.com, their chat with the writer makes it seem it will be very cinematic and powerful, and very important. I hope it turns out great!
