In the last dash to the release of John Jackson Miller's The Living Force novel, out on April 9, Penguin Random House continues to generate as much buzz as possible by dropping yet another excerpt. Today's excerpt, published on Gizmodo, introduces readers to pirate leader Zilastra and a few of her Riftwalker gang members. There's action, cruelty, and even a lovable stowaway or two.

    Check out the excerpt below:

The Living Force takes place a year before the events in The Phantom Menace and features points of view from all 12 members on the Jedi Council as Qui-Gon leads an effort to rescue the outpost of Kwenn. Staff Writer, Nate Manning, described it as an '...escape from the worries of the real world.' Read more on his thoughts here.

The Living Force is currently available for preorder with release on April 9.
