It's Christmas Eve, and I find myself thinking about what a magical thing Christmas was for me back when I was a kid.

These thoughts have me reminiscing about all the cool toys Santa (Dad) would bring. I was so fortunate to have a Dad who was just as much a kid as I was when it came to models and toys and such. Many of those toys involved far more work than the usual "Some Assembly Required", Dad would always help me. We'd build models together. We built the Death Star, TIE's and X-Wings, and even a transparent P-51 Mustang model.

I still have some of these toys. Here are some of my favorites from back then-

    The Kenner Death Star-

My very first Star Wars model kit, the MPC Vader TIE Fighter. I still have this one-

    The Micronauts Mobile Exploration Lab-

The huge Mattel Space 1999 Eagle-

The small, but incredibly cool Matchbox Mobile Action Command Mini Action
Figures and vehicles. I'm happy to say I still have all of these, as they are rare-

Steve Austin, Maskatron, and the Rocket/Operating station playset-

The Monogram "Phantom Mustang". I still have this one-

The very first LEGO "Supercar", a precursor to the Technic line. I still have this one as well-

So, what are your favorite toys from Christmas Past? I'd love to see or hear about them!

Sadly, I was born the year after Jedi came out, and I'm female lol So no Star Wars toys for me. However, my two older brothers had everything, and I mean everything. My eldest brother was even part of some Star Wars club that sent free toys, and I mean boxes full of figures. Not sure what that was about, but needless to say my brothers were delighted about that one.

The great thing is that my mum kept most of the toys (I say most because my dad actually threw away a lot of them. We've still never gotten over that), and now my nephews still play with the toys. They may be over 30 years old, but they don't care. They still love them and it's nice to see that Star Wars is multi-generational.

Hey, I have that kit! The Monogram 1/8 Scale 1979 Turbo Trans-Am. For a few years in
a row, I got one of the Monogram or Lindberg 1/8 scale kits for Christmas. Cool kits!

I still remember the Christmas's where I got a Hoth play set (wampa) one year and an Ewok village (ewok) another year. Lots of good memories with those toys :)
