    Something I liked about The Force Awakens was its portrayal of Chewbacca. He's never been a "walking carpet" and this movie made sure to show that. The little things, like how he indicates to Rey that it was Finn's idea to go to Starkiller to rescue her. That 'line' makes the scene better, and it's Chewbacca's line. Yay.

    I also like how the doctor lady on the Rebel base is seeing to his wound and she's like either patronizing him or flirting with him. I like to envision the latter. What she may not know is that if she wants to get anywhere with Chewbacca, she'll need to go through Han first. Han indicates this is in the Empire Strikes Back when he responds to Leia's preference to kiss a wookie over kissing Han "I can arrange that. He could use a good kiss", as if he's some sort of wookie-human matchmaker.

    But the main idea of this thread is to do this (borrowed from my post in "Did you notice anything new in The Force Awakens" thread): The following conversation takes place early in the scene "Base Infiltration", If you insert this line for Chewbacca's dialogue as if this is what he said, we get:

    Finn: "Solo, we'll figure it out. We'll use The Force."
    Han: "That's not how The Force works."
    Chewbacca: growls/moans: "Can we use The Force to warm me up?"
    Han: "Oh really, you're cold?"

    I think it's really funny to envision Chewbacca, at least here, as being a sarcastic counterpoint to Han. It would make sense to me that Chewbacca would have learned to keep up with (so to speak) Han's cynical, sarcastic and downright nasty commentary.

    Anyone else want to speak for Chewbacca? Do so here. And perhaps other Chewbacca humor as well.

    I like how in the beginning when Han says he always talks his way it of things and lies about how much he's borrowed and he's called out by the both pirate crews and Chewie actually agrees with them as if he's actually saying, "well, they ARE kind of right..."

    I always thought he said "you", referring to Leia needing "a good kiss".

    By the way, this topic should be changed to include R2 and BB as well ;) More material for us to work with, lol.

    This thread reminds me of Empire of Dreams, where it's shown the Peter Mayhew (in ANH, post-TK-421), with British accent, refers to Obi-Wan's leaving to disable the tractor beam with "That old man's mad!", to which Han replies "You said it Chewie!"

    it always sounds to me like he's saying "I love you" in that scene ~ hahaha

    Chewie was so awesome in this movie ~ at long last he got the screentime he deserved. unfortunately they flubbed it up a bit at the end there, but seeing him shoot Kylo Ren, take out all those troopers, and blow up the oscillator was amazing.

    he had a lot of funny moments, but when it came time for someone to take charge on the base, he did it all and saved Finn and Rey.
    may he never be called a mere walking carpet ever again.

    The first cut recorded in this video was shown in Empire of Dreams. Always found it funny to think of Chewie as a British gentleman under all that alien exterior...

    Chewie: "Is this really necessary?"

    *Leia places a golden medal around Han and Luke's necks. Han, Luke, and Chewbacca turn and face the Rebels gathered in their honor, and Chewbacca speaks.*

    Chewbacca: "That's fine, I don't want a medal anyway."

    I think Chewie has had alot of interesting lines in the past movies yet these have been overlooked as we tend to place our site on the other main characters. ESB has varios of these Chewie moments as when he laughs making fun of Han when he is bragging about him and Leia and when he growls at Han when he's working on the Falcon in Echo Base. I found this funny video on this take where you can see what Chewie was really telling Han. Here it is:

    I have also wondered what nasty things he might have said as he was choking Lando or when he started fighting the Stormtroopers when Han was about to be frozen in carbonite.

    Beginning of ESB Chewie is on the Falcon yelling "get the hell up here and help me human". There's footage or script laying around out there with that.
