    Could be. I'm curious if this is the part that the other 3 or 4 black actresses were rumored for a few months ago or if that went to Emilia Clark? Maybe it's an entirely different character?

    Maybe it's a totally new character. People on Twitter have pointed out she might be too old for Sana or for a surprise appearance from a certain Imperial officer we know but we shall see.

    Way more likely to be Rae Sloane, if anything, presuming that she's an established character to begin with. Depending on when the movie takes place, Thandie Newton would be a bit old to play that character (as she was born in the same year that Anakin was - both would have been nine years old during The Phantom Menace), but they could still pull it off by making her look a decade or so younger.
    The actresses in the running for that part were Tessa Thompson, Zoe Kravitz, and Naomi Scott. I do not believe that the character Emilia Clarke is playing will be the character that those three were - otherwise Disney would have to deal with accusations that they're discriminating against actresses of color (even with Thandie Newton being added to the cast), and God knows that they don't want that.

    I'm probably one of the few people that are positive that this film will be better than Rogue One. Besides that, it's nice that Alden got his hair dyed.
    This film is set quite some time before Episode IV.
