Are there any others out there who really like this aspect of the Star Wars galaxy,
and who would love to see more of it, whether it be in comics, movies, games or a TV show?
I'm actually looking for a database or a (fan)site/forum dedicated to the Star Wars Underworld.
From criminal organizations like The Black Sun and the Pyke Syndicate, to the pirates of the Crimson Corsair to Hondo Ohnaka's gang of Weequay pirates, the Crime Lords, and all smugglers, bounty hunters and the civilians who live in the shady underworld of the galaxy, I'd love to see more of it (with new characters, preferably), and sharing those things with fans who like this part of the Star Wars galaxy as well would be awesome. Post here if you're one of them, and otherwise, discuss whatever you want to discuss about the Star Wars Underworld... right here.

I heard Del Toro wanted to direct a film about how Jabba became a Crime Lord, a Godfather-esque movie. I think that would be really cool. Or perhaps the Guavian Death Gang and/or the Kanjiklub Gang from The Force Awakens?

I would love to see movies about these aspects of SW and not just center on the Jedi vs Sith/Rebelion vs Empire conflict. The SW universe has so many awesome things and I'm sure that great movies can be made without having a Jedi. That is one of the things that has me really pummped with the upcomming Rogue One movie as there can be no Jedi there. If what I have read is true, we might even see a couple of Bounty Hunters including Cad Bane in this film so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Black Sun would be very interesting to see in a movie as would the Hutt crime empire as well and I too would like to see the Guavian Death Gang in action.

It would be interesting if they made something with Jabba's son, Rotta the Hutt, He was saved by the jedi as a baby and 20 years later jedi and friends kill his father. I wonder how he feels about that.
Also Sidon Ithano aka The Crimson Corsair needs his own spin off movie.

You may have already heard about it but: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Underworld
"Story points involved Han Solo meeting Chewbacca for the first time, Lando Calrissian losing the Millenium Falcon to Han Solo, and a Boba Fett action scene." :0

That's riiiiight. Thank's for the reminder! There's some good conversation on a live action star wars tv series in this episode of Collider's Jedi Council.

With out Jedis or Siths. I Second That !!!

But while Gotham can be filmed in a low budget production, its just a regular city with average folks, anything Star Wars related has huge production costs attached, perhaps only in animation but animation doesn't need to be bad because there's no boundaries or limits on what they represent.

Agreed. You should watch the episode I posted above. They delve into it. In fact they made the same point you just made.

But they could do something like that if they lower down production costs, just check this ideas for a live action tv show:

    - Place all the Show in a low life forgotten planet (a desert one will bypass the need for fancy sorroundings)
    - Keep the cast to a minimun, again a small planet and that's it
    - Don't go into Space exploration or space flights (forget space Ships and fighters at all, be low tech)
    - Keep the aliens SIMPLE, don't go into Motion Capture, just use prosthetics
    - Forget about big plots and galaxy relations and politiques, keep it simple and in the neighburhood

We come to two choices: Place it in the OT or Place it in the TFA Era

I would place it in OT, namelly in Tattoine, right before the begining of Episode IV - The Tattoine Chronicles

Feat. Young Luke Skywalker, Biggs Darklighter, Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Sand People, Jawas, Jabba the Hutt Gang

Think is doable and i would definitely see that

Yea I can see that as well. In fact I can't see it any other way as far as budget cut's go. Good one. Oh and that avatar. Oh my. It's a classic and it's a keeper bro.

While I think a movie dedicated to Jabba would be awesome, it would pretty much be impossible to market properly because of a lack of human main characters...I think (something I said on here a long time ago) a godfather movie about the sky walkers or the past of maybe 15-30 years before TPM that sets up the entire SW saga for what it becomes .

I am not sure where to ask this but is there a list of star systems that are still canon? I was looking at the star map in the visual dictionary of TFA and while I wasn't surprised to not see Alderaan, knowing that it no longer exists b/c the death star exploded it to bits, it would be nice to get a good glance of the full start map with the star systems that still exists to this day...

There are plenty of other star systems we still have yet to see and explore even though their names were briefly mentioned here and there in the movies...

Wouldn't that star map in the visual dictionary represent the current systems and all that still exist today, though ?

yeah but looking at the star map in the visual dictionary closely, Mustafar isn't on there...hmmm which means, some of the star systems that are still in canon are missing from that map...not to mention Kamino. lol
