I could see them bringing Vader back. It makes sense that a virgin birth would return to life. It also could mean Billions of dollars.

Just not sure how you return Anakin with the Vader armor?
Unless Vader returned through Kylo. Kylo/Vader could become the New Vader, similar to theory Palpatine and Yupe are Snoke...

Padame is another character that could return. Her resurrection was the entire reason Anakin became Darth Vader.

I don't think you can use the dark side for that...the dark side is based on being selfish and inwards and they can't be brought back even as a force ghost

Has anyone ever considered that Palp lied about that ability for the dark side of the Force just to lure Anakin to the dark side?

That's pretty much up to Disney to decide. That is why I asking the question.

I kind of always thought of it that way myself. But Who knows what the original intent. I kinda hope we don't see resurrection. Save that for Marvel where characters never truly die.

Yep, Marvel, DC, Trek, GoT (sorry @DarthSnow ;)), LotR, Galactica, Babylon 5, Dallas... that Jesus fella - if there's one thing I think a GFFA can do without it's resurrection*!

*Anakin/Vader excluded, otherwise the franchise would be pretty much defunct now.

I never asked to brought back! ;)
(PS - You can add Indiana Jones to that list!)

But to add something to the conversation... we're kind of skipping over the fact that we already have resurrection in Star Wars, from a certain point of view... (obi-wan ghost)
Granted, it's the light side and they are a force ghost as opposed to their living body, but in theory it is still a person being "brought back."

And the prequels heavily waded into the waters of the Force being used to create life. I really wouldn't be too surprised (or upset) if the Force was used to bring someone back to life. But, as with anything, it has to be done correctly; it shouldn't just be a gimmick used for shock value.

I think using the dark side to unnaturally hold one's own essence and force power in the present to then reanimate or posses a body would be possible. I think any being that did such a thing would be very weak due to the animated body be made functional through force power. One would want to find a body that is strong in the force to animate or posses in order to have enough power to sustain oneself in the here and now and also be able to use the force powers normally available to living force beings.

Snoke could be a force zombie looking to take over a strong force body like Luke, Kylo or perhaps Rey, Anakin may have been a target of one of these dark entities before he was badly damaged.

I feel like if Disney were to do that with the Dark Side, they'd have to do that with the Light Side too because they've already kind of done it with the Force ghosts. I just don't see it happening, to be honest, especially with Darth Vader. Vader is an amazing character, and initially when they announced the Sequel Trilogy, I thought, "The first six were the story of the rise, fall, and redemption of Anakin Skywalker. If he's dead, how do you continue that?" But now they've proven that it's more than just Anakin's story. It's a family story, and it extends beyond him; however, I think Vader is still very much a part of the story, even if he's not in it.

It would be a bit ridiculous for them to resurrect Vader, and I feel like that would also be a sign of defeat. It's basically saying, "Let's bring back an old villain that people love because the new villains aren't cutting it." We're one film into this trilogy. I personally love Kylo Ren, and I think Captain Phasma is badass too, even if we haven't seen her in action yet. Snoke is really mysterious, but he's appealing to people because they want to know more about him and they want to know what makes him so powerful and where he comes from. There's a lot of potential with the new villains, so I don't see a need to resurrect Vader.

To be honest, there's really no need to resurrect any of the characters so far. Having Yoda or Obi-Wan appear as Force ghosts makes sense. We know they're capable of doing it because they've done it before. But making resurrection a possibility through the Force for anyone essentially defeats the significance of any major character's death, because we know they can be resurrected. I don't see the point, to be honest.
